I really don't think they'll have anywhere near as big of a problem.

By the time the show comes out we may just discover the city of K'un Lun loses all of it's Asian elements and become way more mystical warriors than anything. Just to soften that blow. End up more like some Mortal Kombat location.

I notice Dr. Strange doesn't get any of that flack and he's going to be journeying to Tibet to learn magic from an androgynous white woman and he'll still have his Asian partner/man-servant that knows some magic and how to fight real good among other things.

Dr Strange has completely dodged it probably because the origin is less in your face about it and the character wasn't created during the apex of asain appropriation in the 70's.

and didn't Steve Ditko low key drew Strange to look Asian? Strange probably does deserve some flack.

Will Finn Jones first appear in Mike Colter's Luke Cage series? Umberto "El Mayimbe" Gonzales was a recent guest on the Collider Heroes podcast and stated that was the case [around the 19:50 mark]. "Yes he is. Episode 13. That’s why it was announced, or else it would have leaked … They shot him last week."

In a separate report from Bleeding Cool, the site reports that their sources tell them that Shang-Chi will not be appearing in Iron Fist. The news of Shang-Chi's inclusion was first reported by The Hashtag Show, who were the first to report that Finn Jones had been cast as Iron Fist so take your pick as to which site you believe.

Of course Marvel won't confirm Shang Chi in Iron Fist's show now. It's months away from filming.

This time last year there'd probably be counter rumors about Luke showing up on JJ's show.

im kind of disappointed that Shang Chi might not be in Iron Fist it just made perfect sense im keeping my fingers crossed on his apperance in at least 2 or 3 spisodes then lead to his own series kind of like frank castle or moon knight probably will...

One reason for it not to happen is they only got one thing in common and even then IF is more mystical and Shang is way more direct and grounded. Also not a lot of stories with the two to draw from.

I still think it's going to happen though.

I think so? I know an Asian writer talked about it. Other than that, I see more black people talking about it.

It's white ppl too complaining on behalf of Asians. I just don't get the extent of that.

I definitely mention how the Asian male gets played in Hollywood but for something like this I'd rather let them build their argument.

But even if there wasn't I gotta be consistent,

I can't imagine what I would say if marvel was making a show about the son of a rich white capitalist going to africa, finding some mystikal hidden zulu city, finding some shaka zulu type figure

fights a dragon and comes back to new york dressed in some weird traditional zulu warrior costume.
