Ten years ago, the victims of the Sandy Hook massacre were exclusively children. Today, when people mention the town (or Columbine, Uvalde, or any other small town mostly known for gun killings), people act like nothing important happened there.Bro the youngest was 5

I know every time I enter a stadium for a pro game, I'm walking through metal detectors. It's the only difference I can put my finger on at this time.Malls, movie theaters, concerts...
The only public location that hasn't been affected so far is a pro stadium. It might just be the only place Americans can go and enjoy themselves with no worries (beyond fights).
This is why the argument of self-defense never made much sense outside of select settings (like home defense or hiking/camping).
I guess I'm glad my mom didn't have to raise me in constant fear or dying at school. Not a fan of carrying this fear myself.Scary times raising kids in the U.S…
Are you trying to say that there wasn't a single armed person in that mall at that time? I find it hard to believe.Everyone is saying “oh it’s Texas, where are the good guys with guns?” which I totally understand.
But if you know that area, it’s not some super red Texas suburb where everyone open carries. In fact, I’ve never seen anyone in that area actually open carry and I’ve been there dozens of times. That area (and the surrounding suburbs where people come from to shop) is very diverse, very purple and full of transplants. Context is important.
The state level politics are ****ed up but folks need to remember that Allen/Plano/Frisco/McKinney isn’t some podunk Texas area where folks are walking around with guns and MAGA bumper stickers everywhere.

Most of those areas north of Dallas are pretty well off. I wouldn't doubt a lot of people up there not being armed.
I can remember a time when people were shocked by these things happening. Something like Lubys and Columbine would get talked about for months or years. Now we shrug our shoulders and get ready for the next one. Great country we have here.
noted. the point that I'm raising with regards to GGG is when push comes to shove, people in general wouldn't run into a firefight or in the middle of something like that. people have no training nor the proper mindset to deal in that kind of situation, unless their family members are directly involved. simply saying simple people "cannot protect" their fellow men in the face of such situation. not sure if the Uvalde massacre wasn't testament enough and those are cops. That whole area is full of Asians, Black, Hispanic, White, etc. populations. Not a heavy MAGA presence out there at all especially as more people move to the area from California.
Not saying I disagree with the comments about Texans having guns but that outdoor mall is HUGE and it takes 10 min to walk from one side to the other so it wouldn’t surprise me if nobody was armed the immediate area where the shooting went down. There wasn’t a lot that could be done unfortunately.
whose everyone? I wasn't curious. on the otherhand, what does ethnicity has to do with killing people?Shooter is Hispanic, since everyone seems to be curious about that. AR-15 was used.
