I think Meth wants to be taken seriously on the internet, which I consider a respectable position to assume, if not an admirable one. He's probably more easy-going in real life with his real friends. And he does have a sense of humor but it only shows itself when he puts the hammer down, which does come off as dickish at times, so he probably doesn't do it that often.
