This is news to me.  I didn't know they were building outlet stores over there.  If so that's.......

i'm not going to be a fan of outlet stores...just go to potomac mills if you wanna shop at outlets.

The stores are suppose to be up like to the right of the kiss and ride on that land and over by the Clarion (old Best Western) Hotel I believe. Luckily Oxon Hill Manor was deemed historical land because they probably would have come after that too. Is there anywhere you can read about the success of the harbor? Is it going according to plan or what? To me right now it's just a bunch of hype I live close to it and no one is ever like hey let's hit up the harbor

but then again my friends are cheap.

I'm over that way occasionally.. We hit Ketchup and the occasional sporting event at "Champs" may be wrong on the name.. but its a nice little sports bar in the Gaylord.

Other than that.. Not much poppin thus far. Good place to bring a new shortie though. also seems to be a popular spot for bikers if you ride(pause).

I've always said National Harbor has all the potential in the world to be the go-to spot in the area, and this only makes me more certain that it will be.
Think of all the jobs, revenue, tourism, and real estate value this agreement will bring.

I'm with it.

Why??  Are taxpayers being asked to pay the bill??

Bob Kraft and Steve Wynn essentially came to an agreement to build a casino on land owned by Kraft in Foxboro.  Town's people voted out pro casino selectman, replacing them with anti casino reps, basically killing the deal between Wynn and Kraft.  Basically came down to the townspeople simply not wanting a casino in their area, even with promises of jobs, tax revenues, etc.

Well I guess the townspeople got what they wanted.  Still though, if jobs were being created then to me that would have been good for the city/people.

No thanks champ.  Woodbridge is a bit of a drive given that traffic going down there and back sucks, also too many state troppers for my liking.  They be itching to pull someone over for doing a 55 in a 54.

I with you on that, I thought it was going to be a bit more developed by now but it appears as though alot more things will be there in the future.

If you got some time, here is the "facts" page of the website that was put together by the opposition group:

http://nofoxborocasino.com/facts/

Certainly some interesting anecdotal evidence they used to back up their claims.

Thank you for that, I read a little bit of it and will be sure to read all of it later on tonight.

Yeah I've never been either, nor have I had the urge to go in the past...
...but from what I hear, I'm missin' out and the #@+$'s pretty dope - gonna try to check it out when I come back.

A casino though? #@+$ bout to be "Boardwalk Empire" for real

...

...and yeah, as much as I love the quick come-up on discounted #@+$ from Potomac Mills - that drive is a beeyotch if there's traffic.

What ever happened to that Disney resort that they were talking about building?

Nat'l Harbor is underwhelming.

However, if a real casino gets built there (no Anne Arundel Mills crap), this is a huge win.

People dont gotta go to +%*+%@ WV anymore to gamble.

Disney backed out when the economy took a hit. I believe they are building the outlets on the same land that was planed for Disney.

Ive been to the Harbor like 15 times...each time i say im never going back b/c the parking definately sucks. Somehow im lured back just cus its nice atmosphere...my girl likes it ..etc. Restaurants are over priced for subpar food. I mess wit 'Graces' heavy but you not walking outta there without spending $65 smh. The outlets would be a good look though. Definately an alternative to Arundel Mills.

And as much as i like to gamble.....bringing Casino's to The Harbor is going to be another downfall to the people of PG county. I'd rather it stay at Casino Live in ann arundel county...im cool wit driving 30 min to get to it. I live in PG in hyattsville right now... ft washington b4 that (2 min from the harbor). If u live in PG ...or DC ..you know what im talkin about. Things are already bad. While PG county has one of the most afluent black populations in the country... things are far from perfect. Homes being  foreclosed at alarming rates... The public school systems are bad (when compared to Moco and ann arundel and other surrounding counties)... lack of legitimate businesses (think of how far you have to go to get to a decent restaurant or grocery store)... no major corporations for people to work....Companies dont want to invest in the county for various reasons. why? Cus PG is a majority black county... i dont know the exact stats...but i know its over 70% black.  Crime is a major problem too.

So yeh lets get to The National Harbor. A billion dollar project...first of its kind to hit PG County.... Joint is official with stores....restaurants...hotels... the Gaylord Resort...exclusive townhomes/ condos..etc. Google the problems that casinos bring to surrounding communities. I dont want to see my brothers/ sisters losing their hard earned money. Everyone dont gamble responsibly. Mothers and Fathers  will be wasting their money that need to go to bills...or their kids...etc. The Casino in PG will only worsen a cycle that already exists.

My bad for the long read... I rarely post on this joint..been on here/ lurking since 01 when we used to be able to download music on here. But yeh just my opinion.
