Michael Jordan to Blame for Riots Over Shoes: What Isiah Thomas Said and 5 Things He Could Do With N

This article is so on point, this man is as greedy as they come. Sure he isn't to blame for the behaviors of the consumers but he hasn't done anything to help his community. He's a great basketball player but not so great of a human being. He's been placed on this pedestal and thinks that he is a GOD among men. This guy wanted to keep the NBA lockout going and only give the players 37% what a hypocrite after he told the Bulls organization that he wanted 30 million a year for his last three years. The bulls Dynasty could have gotten one more ring.

Sure I love what he did on the court, grew up wearing his shoes, and enjoyed watching him play as a youth, he is NOT responsible for the actions of others but I don't recall him issuing any statement on his concern over the madness. Jordan Brand is a business but the shoe bares Michael's image and likeness he should be concerned about people-especailly his own!

People compare Kobe to Mike all the time which I hate but have to do in this instance MJ as a person is just as nasty as Kobe is or worse but the difference is he wasn't humbled like Kobe (called out by teammates, the rape charges) Mike has done some very questionable things here recently that are revealing his true self.

To me, it comes down to the retail shops themselves for not taking the proper steps in case of chaos. People blaming MJ or Nike is like people blaming the government cause they're poor. Man up and take some responsibility for your own actions. Those retail shops knew what was coming and if they didn't coordinate with mall security or the police, that's on them and they should be the ones solely responsible. And to answer some your comments about where that %@** wouldn't fly at...there were fights and jackings at Scottsdale(AZ) Fashion Square Mall. Riddle me that? As far as targeting different demographics, every business in this country practices that. In fact, it would be harder to find a business that doesn't practice that, it's called good marketing. If you release a product globally and you see where it's moving like hotcakes, aren't you gonna shift strategies to those areas where you perform the strongest? With J's, it just happens to be the hood. Every business on this earth has a "limited " something.....you don't see people looting over BAPE jeans or the Neiman-Marcus convertible. People are always looking for a place to lay blame instead of looking in the mirror. Now don't get me wrong, if someone comes up to you and wants to pull it then by all means defend yourself, but again that goes back to looking in the mirror...if you didn't get there early enough, that's on you. Shoulda left earlier...but that'll never happen cause people never think anything is their own fault.

I know that Nike is simply sitting back, then hoping that this story will simply lose steam. Outrage over the antics exhibited generally do just go away, especially with the folly of others being posted up on YouTube and Worldstarhiphop, then also what's being shown in politics. Jordan is now getting married, and Nike is going to make more shoes, so societal tolerance for that sort of entertainment will continue to get fed, then will continue to grow, as that sort of ignorance perpetuates itself.

Stereotyping is what I am getting at here.

Sad thing is, as with the socio political landscape, then how so called legitimate reporting outlets like Fox News, those who willingly manipulate people through the usage of misinformation and emotional blackmail, then also looking how one particularly peculiar individual responded on this very thread, even when the evidence is incredibly clear, some people really do not mind being duped into living a lie. Others, those who are in control of what many less fortunate and uninformed people thirst for, are all too eager to keep the desperate clamoring for what is actually destroying their chances to evolve, growing past such stereotypical behaviours.

Keep the people ignorant of their own reality, then you maintain control.

Obviously for some, all you have to do is to make them wait for the Concord XI, then you got'em.

Throw a few measly crumbs to the right crowd, then watch'em scramble, making them clamor for the next possible release.

Price should always reflect the quiality of the product, there where my argumant stands

This blaming against nike and mj is just ridiculous.
Blame those people who camp, fight, steal, rob
because of the shoes. I love air jordans and
Yet i would never do sonething criminal or
Hurting others for that.

i agree with this all around.

jordan is a douche,  it would be nice if he were to say something publicly or do his part to try and calm things down but he doesn't have to and it's not his job to so.

it's blame to be placed all around but these shoe releases need to be handled way better by the stores.   with alot of these stores it's not what you know but who you know.   you could camp out early and do what's needed to ensure you get a pair but if the employees handle the release the wrong way it's highly likely your not getting your pair.

stores need to have proper security working that release and hell knowing how a jordan xi release is, local law enforcement should be there.  if people cut the line or try and act rowdy, escort them off the premisis and if they continue to act rowdy, then arrest them.

if employees act shady and withhold information or handle the release the wrong way,  you get their name and get on the phone with corporate and let your voice be heard.  when complaints are made in high numbers results happen.

alot of the problems fall on the stores.  yeah there's more ideal days jb could've released these but stores handling a release like this properly would fix alot.

In my opinion,
All parties involved should take responsibility. Nike could produce more products for the masses; retailers could have better security and people should act right. I know its easier said than done but trying wouldnt hurt.

Overproducing might be the result, and thenThey hit the outlets and they are not sought after items anymore.I bet if u would produce shoes like ur way, U will end up being bankrupt soon.Trust me, they would end up like theOG 9s which sold badly as mj retired.I think only some most wanted kicksLike the aj 11, 3, 4 in some colorwaysCould be produced about 25% moreThan other general release kicks.
