Michael Phelps: If he has a bad 2012 Olympics does that tarnish his legacy?

Phelps is still the man, regardless of how 2012 goes. Tonight certainly showed he still can beast. His 47.15 was great in the relay.

You all DO realize that Phelps is two medals away from being the most decorated olympian...EVER, right?

One to tie, one more on top of that to have the record.

Lochte barely has his own name to claim in Phelps' shadow.

You can't stay on top forever. If this is his swan song there can be no shame in still competing and winning medals.

I wonder how many Americans will be back on Phelps' jock after he wins the 100 Fly today. It's going to be close to the finish between Phelps and Le Clos (less than half a second). I've got Cavic coming in third.

I'm admittedly more of a Lochte guy than Phelps but Ryan was shaken after Agnel robbed us (USA) of 4x100 gold. Also, I really think Lochte was trying to conserve too much for the 200 IM against Phelps and it cost him the 200 Back gold to Clary and Irie. Clary pushed Lochte and there was little to no response.

Missy's bad start cost her a medal in the 100 Free. She relies too much on closing speed in the final 25m at times.
