More than half of the female Marines in boot camp can't do more than 3 pull ups vol. Equality

I don't understand how women are fighting for EUALITY and having the same standards as men when they want special treatment at the same time. If men are required to do 20 pull ups, women should do the same.  I'm just saying....

This is modern warfare:

NOT THIS:
Funny how some people think you don't need to be fit to fly a jet fighter. You actually need muscle tone to keep the blood from draining from your brain and into your feet or else you'll pass out. All types of scenarios can play out.... What if you need to eject out of your fighter jet and resort to brute strength to stay alive behind enemy lines????

same people thinking they would be able to roll off their sofa and survive driving a full nascar/f1 race

this reminds me of the scene from This is the End

David Krumholtz: Jay! I can't hold on much longer. You have to reach out and grab me, you hear?

Jay Baruchel: Okay, uh, you take my hand and I'll swing you up!

David Krumholtz: You sure? I'm going to give you my whole weight.

Jay Baruchel: I'm gonna reach for you alright?

David Krumholtz: Are you sure you can do it?

Jay Baruchel: I can grab you. On three. One, two, three!

[They grab hands]

David Krumholtz: I'm gonna swing across!

Jay Baruchel: I got you buddy.

David Krumholtz: You're going to hold my weight, all of it.

Jay Baruchel: Okay! Come on!

David Krumholtz: You can hold on to my full weight?

Jay Baruchel: I can do it!

David Krumholtz: I don't want to die.

Jay Baruchel: One, two, three!

[Jay lets go and David falls to his death]

Bro, I was in tears during this scene. The way he kept emphasizing all of his weight had me

I also don't practice F1/Nascar. I don't think Nascar is an athletic sport tho, sue me a lot of people share that opinion. It requires as much endurance/skill as trying to watch a tyler perry movie marathon in a hot room.

I'd just quit from boredom after the 12th lap.
the first part is an opinion, the second part is just not true

the ignorant stay ignorant i guess

Everybody getting mad, the bottom line still stands.....being a brute doesn't make you a good soldier. Not in the U.S. Army at least.

Women can be snipers, a woman can carry a gun, a woman can fly a fighter jet. And I think with progress in the future women will become fully integrated into the military. I mean it's inevitable, in biblical times it was unfathomable a woman going into battle....with technological advances in battle tactics and weapons women have a place. Aint nobody engaging in hand to hand/sword to shield combat anymore.

Many science fiction ideas become future fact. But I believe in the future the military will become 30-40% female it's only a matter of time. As our females continue to be socialized to growing up with a mentality that they can do anything a man can do, you'd be surprised what women are capable of.

i think the military wants you somewhat versed in all areas as a prerequisite. Cus you never know when a need will arise, what situations can present themselves where a sniper gotta duke it out, hand to hand. Shortages can occur too where a team gets reassigned and should at least have the basics down. It comes down to wanting a team of swiss army knives verses a team of individual tools.

My opinions on Nascar stand tho, I'm not even saying people who say its a sport don't have a point...I just don't see it that way.

But you can't proclaim the difficulty in something that you've never done...all I'm saying.

A lot of people see it as "driving in a circle 200 times" but there's a lot more to it than that.

well you know that females in the Marines arent required to do pull ups right?

They do a different exercise that is still pretty tough in its own right.

And to be fair, in boot camp I could only do 4 pull ups, which I got up to 15 by the time I got to the fleet.  Boot camp isnt about PT, we only PT'ed probably 8-9 times the whole 13 weeks

Ignorance.
I mean some people thought black people would make awful soldiers.....they make up a majority of the US army. Never say never, that's all I'm preaching.

My opinions on Nascar stand tho, I'm not even saying people who say its a sport don't have a point...I just don't see it that way.
The US Army is 73.9% white, what are you saying?

Seriously....what an ignorant dumb comment that dude made. So everyone else is throwing rocks and fists? LOL.

lol i never said that, I did say that the U.S. avoids "face to face" combat as much as possible. We have more bombs than any other country, hence our advantage.

Dude tryna compare molotovs to B52 bombers....good try. :lol

The U.S. advantage is NOT in the fact that we have stronger soldiers, it's because we have better bombs, better planes, better technology, etc

I mean, are people rly denying this? :lol

Brah...who's the one flying those planes and dropping those bombs....soldiers.

Yah gotta be kidding me with that mentality.

If women aren't fit enough to be in the military (mentally and physically) then they're not fit. But hats off to those women who do make it through boot camp and become soldiers.

MORE THAN HALF OF FEMALE MARINES CAN'T DO MORE THAN 3 PULL-UPS.....everyone cosigns based on their prejudices.

the article is soooo misleading too, mostly because female Marines at NO POINT have ever been required to do a pull up, until just recently when the Marine Corps decided to see if they wanted to implement pullups in to the PFT requirements for females.

So basically they're being told, get up on that bar and do something that you've never been required to do before in your life.

Prior to the changes, female Marines were required to do an exercise that required them to hold themselves with their chin above the pullup bar for 70 seconds.  Most male Marines that I've seen (even the 20 pullup guys) cant do it for more than 30

Quit back peddling. You said that "the U.S. wins with cowardly acts like dropping bombs". Countries have been dropping bombs for several decades. Maybe you don't remember WWII. Or maybe you didn't pay attention in school. But saying the U.S. dropping bombs is cowardly when everyone is doing it is ignorant. FOH. It's not our problem that our military is superior. You're stupid if you think other coutries are throwing molotovs as their defense system. Even third world countries are using remotely triggered explosives. Read a book.

Let's make war hand to hand

lol we won WW3 for a reason........our military has nothing to do with brave men.
fall back b....seriously

I've lost quite a few brave friends that I served with, and my buddy just lost his legs....so thats definitely....nevermind, but thats just not a great line of thinking

Why? Because we have the advantage?

That's like the Broncos saying "you know what? This isn't fair. Let's only run it."

Interesting logic.
