If you follow the link to the survey in my sig I gave a short explanation as to why I did it that way. I guess it is a little bias and exclusive but I wanted to keep it in-line with what niketalk.com was basically set up for/from and keeping to true to being in the Nike forum.... and marginally cuz I didn't have time to pay attention to most other brands kicks and would've just over-complicate the brackets and thus extend the "competition" longer...
  

Yeah, I don't care for the designs of the other shoe brands either.  Nike has a monopoly on the design and tech aspect.  The last time I really liked a different brand's design was the sample of the first Gilbert Arenas shoe.  The actual shoe released wasn't as nice.

Glad to see the Bulls bring back the "black shoe" tradition for game three.  It was round one against the Cavs 21 years ago that Brad Sellers came up with the idea to wear black shoes against the heavily favored Cavs.  After a hard fought 5 game series, MJ made "the shot," and won the series for the Bulls.  Ever since then, they wore black shoes for the playoffs.  But the current Bulls somewhat strayed away from that tradition, but decided to go back to it for game three... And I like what resulted from it.

 Wade back with the home Heat 2010...he wore these only once during the regular season and giving them another go last night, I actually like them with that uniform for sure...

roy always is bringing something fresh..  much props to him for coming out and playing 8 days after knee surgery..  didn't have a huge game, but provided enough lift and spark for his team at home to even up the series..

....deservingly needing it's own post! The OKC Thunder even the series at 2 games apiece. This is now a 6 or 7 game series people! You're not dreaming, the Lakers are backpedalling and shouldn't to a team like this who already defied all expectations and want to build on a fairy tale year. I still think this is a 6 game Lakers series but boy, I am not going to doubt the Thunder at all again!

 That's da vibe Rasta...whatever minutes you play just come in and help this team pull off some W's

 I hope these guys can keep their composure in the next 3 games. The lack of experience actually helps them cuz they're in a "nothing to lose" situation, just go out and play as they've done all year....hard and unforgiving. The Lakers on the other hand have had their mediocre moments, Phil is getting flustered with the refs and David Stern and now in the pressure pot...Never thought this series would provide this amount of spark! I LOVE IT!

 This series isn't exciting as the Bulls-Celtics series with all the OT games but boy it's satisfying!...Not on a "Beat LA" level but just to see a young team like this just continue to push the tempo and dramatically increase its stock! The Thunder are now more than ever on the radar for a lot of the free agents for this summer, I'm sure!

After a very exciting first round, the bracket has progressed to Round 2, setting up some outstanding matchups that will certainly be entertaining to follow and see what the results will yield next week. Without further ado, the updated bracket below:



  

The statistical results are as follows

WEST:

(1) Air Zoom Kobe V- 90.7% of voting to [8] Air Max Rise's-  9.3% (An expected washout despite whoever was the opponent in the 1st round)

(5) Hyperize- 71.2% to (4) Blue Chip II's- 28.8% (This was a very close match up which turned in favour of the Hyperize by mid week. Definitely not as "flimsy" as thought)

(3) KD II- 98.1% to (6) Huarache 2010's- 1.9% ( The H2K10's got 1 vote people...just 1!)

(2) Air Max Lebron 7- 90.6 % to Hypermax's- 9.4% (The King be rolling into a handful of trouble in the 2nd round)


EAST:

(1) Air Jordan 2010- 69.8% to [8] Jumpman Pro's-  30.2% (25 years and going strong)

(5) Melo M6- 70.4% to (4) AJ Icons- 29.6% (Much love being shown to an underappreciated signature line)
