What They're Wearing takes a look at NBA players' feet, but not in a creepy way. We're in it for the shoes. Got a question? Send an email.
What are they?: Air Jordan II Retro
Who wore them?: Juwan Howard(notes)
Where can I get them?: That depends on what you're looking for. If you want the OG version, the original release, you'll have to hit eBay and sift through the myriad versions they have there. These have been re-released a handful of times, in a bunch of different colorways, so there's quite a few different choices. If you want the version Juwan has, which is a replical of the original, you'll have to wait until May 1. The most recent release is the white and silver 25th anniversary version that's available from Nike's online store for $135.
Fun facts: These shoes were released to the public in 1987, which was Juwan Howard's freshman year of high school. That means that there is a very realistic chance that Juwan Howard is wearing the same shoes now that he did when he was 14. Considering he's a Chicago guy, it's not a very far-fetched possibility. Sure, lots of guys do that now that shoes get re-released after 10 years off the shelf, but it's not usually a 23-year gap between wearing them. In fact, there are 74 players in the NBA this year who weren't born when Juwan Howard might have been wearing these shoes in high school.

Who wore them?: Rajon Rondo(notes)
Where can I get them?: It's not quite available yet. There's no firm release date set, but Footlocker says they should be released in "July/August." If you're lucky, some pairs have popped up on eBay recently, but there are none currently available. However, if you wear a size 9, O Sneaker has an aqua version for $200.
Fun facts: The Hyperfuses are the latest incarnation of the Nike Hyper-line of shoes. First was the Hyperdunks that are still on some feet even two years after their release, then the Hypermax, which caught on with the Carlos Boozers of the world, and finally the Hyperize, which has become the bane of some trainers' existences. However, these feature Nike's new Torch fabric, rather than flimsy Flywire, so maybe the Pistons will let these slide.
What are they?: adidas TS Supernatural Commander
Who wore them?: Josh Smith(notes)
Where can I get them?: You have a couple of different options here. First, you can do like Josh Smith and create your own pair of these on mi adidas for $130. If that's not your cup of tea, you can get a few different player editions from Eastbay for $89.99. And last, but certainly not least, you can bid on a pair of Smith's actual shoes at the NBA's auction site right now. The current price is $250, and all proceeds go to the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta.
Fun facts: As a part of Josh's charity work, he'll be debuting a new pair of these kicks for each round of the playoffs. Those shoes will go on auction to benefit the Boys and Girls Club. It's a pretty cool idea, and a nice reason to root for the Hawks to advance. Oh, and the lady to the left of Josh's floating feet really loves these, even if the guy sitting in front of her isn't terribly impressed.

I can sense a little rivalry brewing between Gerald Wallace and Dwight Howard from this series that will carry forward

At this mid-week point the playoff is poised to produced some results which some people may call surprising and/or maybe quite obvious. With the "Conference Finals" on the horizon next week, the matchups have been shaping up to be very intriguing and again forshadowing some possibly tight battles that will determine the Finalits for this year's "Shoe of the Year."
-The battle of the "light weights" are proving that one may be in need of "ankle insurance" soon...
-Being "The Chosen 1" is increasingly becoming a very tough task
-"Seeing through his opponent, while only allowing the opponent to see just a little of him", is not only a brillliant marketing metaphor...
- Might be a good thing to get out of the Rising Sun...

^The AM's (and that entire bracket) were for the regular season, I'm putting things together for the PS and a current playoff bracket soon...just a bit stretched for time, so it's more of a weekend project
