Russ ain't humble (when it comes to ball) and he talks **** so people are triggered by him. Plus there's a section of NT who still hasn't gotten over him winning MVP when they thought James Harden deserved it. Add in that the media dislikes him due to how he treats some of them and you get this

Dudes swinging at the air b/c Russ had a good game & won

Yup it had nothing to do with the dude pointing at Dame, talking **** and rocking the baby after every basic shot he made with that dumb *** scowl on his face the entire time. Then refusing to answer basic *** questions in his post game interview like usual. Had nothing to do with any of that, we’re all just so upset he won.

If Russ played like he did last night, in terms of not being a complete negative on offense by chucking up terrible shots, I think he’d get a lot less **** win or lose and despite the attitude (except for buc I guess)

I’m actually with Buc on this one. I just think Russ is an *** hole. Straight up. Am I angry about it? No. Do I want Dame to continue to outplay him and the Thunder to lose? Yes, very much.

Those are really you complaints? In sports? Were you this upset w/ Embiid throwing an elbow and laughing? I’m seriously curious. It’s sports man. I don’t wanna see them hugging and blowing kisses at each other during the game. It’s fun to watch competitive trash talk.

But maybe that’s just me idk

I only care about how he plays. I don’t consider anything Russ did last night on the floor nor with the reporters to be enough to dislike him

I enjoy some troll behavior. Dame’s been doing a lot of it himself throughout their matchups through the years

And Joel is one of the biggest trolls out there, and does quite a bit that could be considered “childish”. Interesting

I don't really think you would call it "troll" behavior with Russ, it's clearly coming from a place of genuine feelings and sensitivity much like KD. Doesn't matter really anyways, I'd rather focus on the basketball.

Sports just brings out the tribal behavior like anything else. Dudes can rationalize the behaviors of players on their favorite teams and also detest similar things that a guy or team they don't like does. We literally see it daily. :lol

Embiid is one of the biggest trolls in the league and that elbow he swung was actually dangerous. :lol No complaints about that, though.

First of all, Embiid did a classic big man move where he was creating space with his elbows. That’s literally how that’s taught even as a kid. If you’re going to put your face in there then suffer the consequences. He didn’t throw a blatant UFC elbow where he loaded up and rocked the dude. They asked Shaq about this and he said the exact same thing.

Second of all, Embiid was saying he was sorry about catching him with an elbow with a completely straight face then Ben started laughing and Embiid started laughing with him and said Ben was laughing because usually he’s not that humble. But I’ve also been extremely clear about how annoyed I’ve been with how cocky the Sixers have been over the last month or two as well, just giving the effort when they feel like it. So I’ve made that known already previously on here.

This is it. I'm not even criticizing folks who do this but just own it too

See y'all gotta check yourselves before u get to this point. If an athlete's actions have this much affect on u u have issues

Could be, but either way I enjoy it the same. Long as it's kept within the lines of safety I'm not going to be complain about someone stirring up some ****

Lol wut

If a dude acts like a douche no matter what profession he’s in it’s okay to call him out on it. Westbrook is a douche. This is why many people don’t like him. It’s reallllly not that deep, man.

I’ve also criticized Joel for his behavior at times. And I absolutely am cool with trash talk and trolling. The Dame-Russ rivalry is making this the most entertaining series in the 1st round. Still, there’s something about the way Russ handles his business that rubs me the wrong way. Maybe the problem is mine, but that’s how I feel.

What's the origin of this standoff between Russ and Tramel? It's definitely unprofessional. Unless the dude did something harmful to him or his family, then he shouldn't be punished for just doing his job.

It's not a coincidence that Durant and Westbrook are both incredibly sensitive when it comes to the media. They were overly protected by that franchise and local reporters for years, pretty much only had to deal with softballs and adoration. When they turned they couldn't handle it and basically have continued to lash out in the same way.

For Durant the turn came with "Mr. Unreliable" and then leaving, for Russ it came the year after his MVP season when people began looking more closely at his image as a player.

Both of them just want to be loved and praised all the time and have difficulty dealing with criticism or tough questions. Most NBA players are much better at those things.
