Stretch armstrong reach. He's going around him to swipe the ball because he got boxed out. Does it all the time. He's a smaller guy and that's what smaller guys do. Steph, Bev do it all the time.

It would be nice if the midrange the Warriors are obviously trying to give them are taken at that point. Last game Harden had a clear shot to take from like 18 feet out and he stopped in his tracks and went to the perimeter. He had another open midrange this game and instead passed it to PJ. Thankfully he took a couple down the stretch, but that **** is annoying.

I didn't say trade. But if you back out of a rhythm 15 footer to brick a 3, you lose. Harden has done that many times in this series.

Agreed. And he's fully capable of it. Used to have it in his OKC bag too. Same with the mid-range post game; he had decent usage of that his first year with us.
I know it doesn't fit the data but I'm sure there's +EV with a mid-range shot selection somewhere, as if the eye test isn't obvious sometimes.

Agreed I'm ok with him sticking to the 3, layup or free throw model. But don't back out of a wide open jumper from mid range just to shoot a contested 3.
Harden took a 14-15 foot floater tonight. He made it, but it's basically the same as a short jumper imo. The kind of shots that harden can shoot wide open, all night.

harden cooks everybody, he's gonna make almost every defender not named kawhi look like ricky rubio. but it's a matter of making him work harder to get to his spots and being able to contest his step back. warriors playing defense by committee throwing iggy, klay, KD, and dray at him. that ****'s gotta be taxing for harden. he's been scoring and getting to the lane, but he's dribbling and "dancing" a lot more to set himself up. in a potential 7 game series, i'm betting on the warriors defense.

not sure why chuck still considers taking 40+ threes a game as "gimmicky" considering 3 of the past 4 champions have been within the top 5 for most threes attempted. maybe he was the one advising magic to build a team in 2019 that had no shooters

The comments in this from all the Celtics fans just blow my mind. Never would have thought that’s how they’d be feeling this year. Crazy how universal it seems that Celtics fans WANT Kyrie gone this offseason.

KD at the point is genius... it’s gonna take some getting use to but it allows Steph and Klay to both roam around at the same time, and stretches the floor, maximizing space for KD to operate off the dribble and pull up at will. And then you got the two best shooters in the game finding spots to take open shots. Like I said, it’s gonna take some time but there was already significant improvement from Game 3, using this strategy. Watch out for more of this in Oakland.
