Here’s the reality people aren’t fully grasping.

The league has caught up to the warriors. The margin for error is slim as it’s ever been for them. Kevin Durant increases that margin for error, allows them to play a different way if need be, and they’re the favorites with him playing.

Without him playing, they’re still the slight favorites. For these reasons:

-Chemistry
-Coaching
-Experience
-They have the best player going forward in every series in Steph
-They have the best defender going forward in every series in draymond
-They have Klay who can catch fire at any moment
-They’ve done it before

That’s the reality right now. And that’s how this **** is going to play out.

Precisely, which is why outright saying the warriors DONT NEED Kevin Durant is a wild hill to die on in 2019.

Maybe in 2017, but in May of 2019? He's more than a luxury. Can they get it done without him? Sure, but they'd be much closer to the field with him, and the margin for error would be much smaller. It'd be tough getting through the west for 82 games plus playoffs w/o him. Not to say they can't. We're kind of saying the same thing.

I feel the same way about Steph too. W/o Steph it'd be hard in 2019 to get all the way to the chip w/o him. They need them both. It's really no different than say the Rockets, who need the 18' version of CP3, (Steph) Harden, (KD) Eric Gordon (Klay) to win it all.

Saying the Dubs can definitively win it all w/o KD is a discredit to how great KD is

im saying they are not as dominant without KD, thought that was obvious but do carry on with your agenda.
They ate though ... I guess prior to KD they didnt set any records.

They arent more dominant with KD either. They just have an extra dude that can take games over, but they lose on better ball movement.

He didn’t play well in the rockets series last season tho. The production just gets shifted. The series changed when they put the ball in Steph’s hands....went away from KD ISO’s and slipped the screens, moved the ball.

You forgot Kerr pulling KD aside....the rockets do a great job at switching and baiting KD to iso mismatches.

Then this happened.

that series was probably one of the first where the warriors discovered the relocation shot for curry. Most unstoppable play in the L. Requires the defender to be too disciplined and for the help to be on a string. Any error in the chain, equals a wide open jumper, every single time.

They were supposed to lose. 4 all stars

Guaranteed when KD went down that WAS NOT what was said.

Goalposts.

Also, they only had two all stars this year and "no bench."

Since we counting former all star appearances now, lets add former all star competition trophy winners, and other accolades to really see who's team is the most stacked!

**** looking mighty familiar, in the most critical moments, the last few games...

Fools were throwing dirt over the grave the moment KD went down. Declared it as fact they won't win the series without him, had that Barkley energy.

Goalposts and all that got completely shifted afterwards.

They've been without KD in the playoffs for 5 quarters against the Rockets and 1 game against the Blazers, who many predicted wouldn't even make the playoffs this season. Hardly enough to come to the conclusion that they'd be just as good if not better w/o him.

You are right people (myself included) thought the Rockets would win games 6&7 w/o KD, credit the warriors for winning game 6. But extrapolating that to them not needing him is wild.

Zion and Julius Randal
:smh: Please don't bring that back up

So they should definitely be able to beat whomever comes out of 3 East without KD according to y'all's logic? Hopefully we'll get to see it.

Nahhhh freeze they been doing that since like the first MVP year
nooo bro. before it was all screen and roll stuff or series of screens. they werent having curry pass the ball to seemingly be out of the play to relocate to a move favorable position, as a play. IF it happened before, it was broken plays that worked out. It wasnt in their playbook before. Kelenna Azibuke mentioned it on their telecast not too long ago.
