Need the demo to drop soon or something. All u dudes singing high praises about 2k being better no matter what is just like the dudes who were loyal to the Live brand while 2k was just getting its sea legs.

Looking forward to seeing some gameplay footage. Live 10 was such a strong offering, I have no idea why they wanted to scrap that instead of building off it. Well... I know it was because it didn't sell how they wanted it to, but after putting out trash for the latter half of the decade, it was unrealistic to expect a bounce back in sales after 1 decent offering.
Sounds like the Live team is heading down the correct path with 13.

Co-sign both of the above.

Live is never going to have a fair shake. Live 08 had some issues, but I thought it was a good game, and graphically was one of the better looking games. I thought the series degraded graphically as it went on. I couldn't believe anyone could say 2K looked better. I remember people criticizing the analog ball handling and hot spots in Live before 2K had them in later games. Then praising them. Because of brand loyalty, most people have their mind made up before they see either game.

What people don't realize is, is that EA is always under higher scrutiny and they pretty much started from scratch every year with an entirely new game and tried to make it within the limited development cycle sports simulation games have, while 2K could do no wrong and could tweak the previous years game, having more time to refine an already done product. (While removing bugs. Instead of starting over and facing the probability of undiscovered bugs that come with making a new game from scratch.) Taking all that into consideration, what they did with Live 10 is commendable. These guys even tried changing the name of the game, just because people weren't going to buy a game titled NBA Live anymore.

EA Sports makes some of the best sports simulation games. They pretty much created the market for it back in the day for us to even be playing games like 2K today. I believe these guys are capable of making a good game, and I'll reserve judgement on Live 13 until I've played it.

I agree and I actually liked Live 10. Reading the review posted on pg 4 definitely has me intrigued.
