NBA Off-Season News Thread: Roy extends 80/5, AI to Grizz, Chandler/Okafor swap, Marquis to C's.

Didn't LeBron, Wade, and Bosh take 4-year deals (last year options) on their second contracts? I don't get why that's so outrageous...

Those 3 were about getting the most money they could and basically hitting the jackpot when their deals came up.

Roy wants the longer commitment and is happy where he's at. And I'm pretty sure Bron and co all had it in mind that they could join up together whenall their deals came up, remember Bron tryin to tell Melo not to take the 5 year deal he signed back then? Roy doesn't have any other dudes to run likethat with in his free agent year.

I just thought about how old Roy is to only have been in the league for 3 seasons. Coming into the league after 4 yrs in college FTL.

Exactly. Roy would be almost 30 when that 4 year deal was over, he wouldn't get no 100 mill deal at that time, he would be getting Hedo money at thatpoint. So taking the 4 instead of 5 really has no benefit for Brandon.

seriously why doesnt sheed get his teeth fixed? if i had that kinda money i wouldnt be walkin around smiling like

then again, its sheed and he does have that kinda money so he can walk around like kanye "cant tell me nothin"

All so Portland could add Kirk Hinrich?!?

they want captain kirk. thats why. they tryna force they hand to utah to make the deal happen.

for the discussion on broy's age, i feel like he wouldn't have had the immediate impact if he hadn't stayed four years. 3 years in, he'salready the go-to-guy and what not. Also, I remember an SI article that stated that even though players were coming out earlier, the end of their career'peaks would also be earlier. Case in point would be KG, with his knee issues. People that come out early don't just magically add years to the end of theircareer.

I like Boozer, but I don't want to give him the kind of money he'll ask for after this season. I want Chris Bosh, or Wade if I'm gonna max someone.

And I don't like that trade....Hinrich and Tyrus for 1 year of Booz.....no way in hell man. Hinrich is way too valuable and Tyrus is still decent enough tohold on to.

Shuges, please quote this and explain to me how AI is about winning and such, now that he has signed with a franchise to merely jack up shots.

I don't know.

This is what I THINK Iverson is thinking. He's probably thinking to himself, if he can make a good impact on a young team, put up good numbers and not bedisruptive for a season then it would make him more attractive next off-season with contenders. He's probably thinking that if Memphis adds him along withthe group they have that he would be able to make them a low seed playoff team making him look good by doing it. Whether this is true or not, I don't know.Memphis is a team that won 24 games last season. Can their chances of winning around 40 games really decrease by adding Iverson? I'm guessing that he wouldbe thinking the national media would say "The Grizzlies ran short of making the playoffs, but made one of the biggest improvements in their win columnafter adding Allen Iverson" or something. He's obviously looking for something positive to come out of this knowing that his career can be damagedeven more.

I question AI's motive in this deal because he's said he doesn't want to come off the bench, yet Memphis says thats the only way they sign him. Theonly way I would want AI in the starting lineup is if they try OJ at the point.

What's good people! Just got off the corse! Bout to pick up Jarratt Jack and go to the gymabout 1 hour ago from UberTwitter
I hope Memphis could pick-up Jack as a backup PG. Adding him would be a lot better than adding Iverson in terms of chemistry.

I hope...I actually pray that AI signs with Memphis. Only because D. Wade will be more unhappy in Miami.
