Nothing like a little victim-blaming to kickstart the day.Truth hurts?
Yep. Still victim-blaming.Is it victim blaming or promoting vigilance and protecting yourself? Of course you tell the men to not be overly aggressive stop when she says stop as well, but there's nothing wrong with telling someone to not get blackout dunk bc not all men will follow the rules. Criminals will always exist.
Kinda unrelated, but the women who say stop but really mean 'keep going' make situations really difficult for everyone.
Well again, is this the thread to talk about this? Is this the basis people want their argument to sit on? It’s like people who go into the people dead from gun violence dead and promote having more guns. Gotta read the room better than that if anything at allIs it victim blaming or promoting vigilance and protecting yourself? I feel like this was something that would happen when WE were younger. I don’t think younger girls are doing this anymore. At least I hope not.Kinda unrelated, but the women who say stop but really mean 'keep going' make situations really difficult for everyone.
If i go to a crime infested hood flaunting gold chains, diamond rings and counting thousands of dollars wearing expensive clothes... Do you think I'll get robbed?Yep. Still victim-blaming.
Was Geraldo promoting vigilance and protecting yourself when he told young black men to not wear hoodies in the wake of Trayvon Martin’s murder?
Did you not read what i posted. Do you not see where it says men should STOP WHEN SHE SAYS STOP? or did you just overlook that?Well again, is this the thread to talk about this? And when it comes to sexual things, sorry but anyone can say no whenever they wants. This is just the “well you wore what you wore” argument.
Did you comprehend anything I typed or did you look over all of it to save face? Bill cosby really got y’all acting funny. Y’all must of loved the show a lot. That or ghost dadDid you not read what i posted. Do you not see where it says men should STOP WHEN SHE SAYS STOP? or did you just overlook that?
Blah blah, if you wear a hoodie and hold a toy gun should you expect to get shot? *oh but that’s different meme* right? If i go to a crime infested hood flaunting gold chains, diamond rings and counting thousands of dollars wearing expensive clothes... Do you think I'll get robbed?
Do you think I 'asked for it'?
Do i have the right to wear what I want to wear and count my hard earned money in peace? Yes! Is it smart to not be vigilant?
Truth hurts?
This guy@ 7:14 "hear to tell the young ladies if you want to keep your panties on, cut down on the drinks"
this guy is disgusting...
Truth hurts?
I think the problem is moreso that it goes without saying and is a pretty tasteless thing to say given the context. Also fails to take into account that Cosby was allegedly drugging women without their knowledge, so being intoxicated really doesn't have much to do with this date rape scenario, but why bother putting anything into context when you can just autistically adhere to logical principles?
Why do we always run to false dilemmas in this thread?
A false dilemma, also referred to as false dichotomy, is an informal fallacy based on a premise that erroneously limits what options are available. The source of the fallacy lies not in an invalid form of inference but in a false premise.
If one cant wrap their mind around the fact that saying:
"when you drink alcohol you leave yourself open to assault or rape"
is entirely different than saying:
"when you drink alcohol you deserve to be assaulted or raped"
then that says more about you than either "personal responsibility" or "victim blaming" ever will.
You lack understanding, maturity, and reasoning skills.
BOTH things are true.
Nobody "deserves" to be raped.
Nobody is exempt from personal responsibility (accountability).
Sheesh!
I swear if it wasn't for logical fallacies some folks would have nothing to say.
Naw, let’s keep this within the context of this thread. When is it ok to rape someone using this logic? Let’s just get right into it

NO ONE IS BLAMING THE VICTIM. THE CRIMINAL IS ALWAYS AT FAULT.
Essentially, all we're saying is Don't leave your windows open bc burglars will take advantage.
It's always the burglar that's at fault but the homeowner could have prevented it by being vigilant. It's not the homeowners fault, but he could have prevented it.
Goodness.
Amen. #ditchthehoodie #justcomply #shouldn'thaveresistedMy final thoughts:
There will always be racists. Period. You can either make it EASIER for them or HARDER for them.
Your choice.
