Beating South Carolina isn't impressive. Probably a Gator homer.
But the way they beat South Carolina is impressive... Throwing up 50 on a team that hadn't given upmore than 24 points all season... That offense has been clicking on all cylinders for months now... If you watched that team and weren't thoroughlyimpressed, I dunno what to tell you... They looked like the best team in the country by a wide margin yesterday...

Even still, they have a 1 in the loss column while 'Bama and Tech have 0. Sure, 'Bama was pretty sloppy yesterday and Tech was idle butthat doesn't change the fact that both teams are still undefeated. They won the games they were supposed to and Florida didn't, this should be caseclosed unless Tech or 'Bama loses. Then Florida would be in the discussion of #1.

And on a side note, USC deserves nada as far as National Championship is concerned. They have been unimpressive and inconsistent against weaker competitionand that's not helping them in what is a down year for the Pac-10.

I did watch the game and a blow out is always good to watch but South Carolina didn't even show up. They played themselves out the game by theend of the six minute mark of the first quarter. Don't get me wrong, the Gators are good but the SEC is hella overrated this year and I dare someone torefute that.

Considering that people rate it the 2nd best conference in football, I think that your argument that it is overrated is refuted.

wait wait wait.... who around here considers it the 2nd best? All i've ever heard 99 percent of NT'ers say is that the SEC is the bestconference in football and it's not even close.

Now - i certainly don't agree with such a statement... but as far as NT is concerned, i think your post is the first i've ever seen anybody question itas the top conference...

I am sure the " SEC is the best" argument is dying down with the emergence of all these big 12 teams

for 2008 ,

Big XII > SEC

@ yall getting up in arms b/c some people think UF is the best team in the country. And for the record THIS YEAR, BigXII>SEC. I'm looking forward to see how the South divison shakes out and Dec. 6 is shaping up to be the best game ever in the history of the SEC.

Fortunately, I live my life outside of NT, therefore allowing me to hear other opinions than those skewed ones that you read here. Mostintelligent individuals that follow college football would say that the Big XII is the best conference this year, and that is who I'm referring to, not NTmaniacs.

Jason Goch on Sporting News Radio (pretty good college football guy, IMO) has said numerous times that the Big XII is the best conference by far this year.

Pat Forde agrees - "Scoreboard: Big 12 6, SEC 6. But they don't give out awards for being better in the bottom half of the league. Winner: Big12."

NT would say that also. Craftsy was talking about at the beginning of the season where Auburn and UT were supposed to be top 25 teams and endedup being trash and everyone was saying SEC was the best on NT and everywhere else. Now I think even the biggest SEC fan here would say Big XII is having abetter year than SEC.

USC is a lot better than people want to believe.

The U has made huge progress, Desmond Howard may have not been too far off in his prediction that they may be back in the nat'l title picture within thenext 2 years, they have oodles of young talent.

The U needs to figure out their O before they can fully be in the picture for a national title. Their D is going to be sick for the next few years.
