with the release of the blue toe questions I somewhat understand why they changed the color of the sole on the es22 because the 2 shoes look so similar and the releases are so close together

Just pre-ordered my E22's for $140 shipped at Packers. At first I thought this was another model I had years ago but then realized it wasn't.
The packards model does not have any orange in it and ships on 12-15. Also they sent me a free shipping code due to the mess up with the Questions.
I also noticed the new red/wht answers are also avail for pre-order.

Yeah I think they did it to give it a "vintage" look. They did the same thing with the Answer retros a few years ago except the Answers were a translucent gum color. These ES22s look funny to me because its a solid gum colored outsole.

This one confuses me too my man. Some of the OG Reebok heads here had stated that they don't have the original molds so they actually buy or get people to send in their OGs to be taken apart. As you suggested they should've at least put a translucent gum sole - the solid gum throws the shoe off. Not a good look and I doubt it's vintage - they would've yellowed the midsole.

Nah brother, in general White/Blue, White/Red kicks are good sellers. Also these are two very different shoes, one's basketball and the other's a trainer. Lastly the ES22 is being retro-ed after years while Questions have been dropped intermittently over the years - however this year's reissues are (IMHO) one of the better ones.
Real shame re: the ES22, I would've dropped retail on but it comes across as a retro+ now - will try to pick up for $90 and under...

and yes they're trainers but reebok is riding a new exclusive wave with swizz and ross

probably will hit outlets ... Been waiting for this retro for quite some time. I was 16 when they came out in the 90's and owned a pair as well. I really wish they had kept the original cowboy colorway the same with the clear sole also. I too will be scooping up on disco from friends and or at outlets.
