New York Yankees Official Thread - CC in the HOF!

Disagree about Arraez , his war (a stat i refuse to understand ) is not what I'm worried about. Just get on base for these guys, that he does well. Seems like everytime i watch him he's standing on 1b. Me personally, I'd add Spencer to a deal for him.

Luis, I believe if I’m not mistaken, has worse defensive numbers than Gleyber and he’s actually slow on the basepaths compared to him as well. Just go and make the trade for Nico Hoerner who should have already been included in the Bellinger trade. Better glove, better runner, with a top BA for 2nd basemen in the league.

He hits singles and does nothing else above league avg.

I can’t go back and forth with someone who doesn’t even want to understand analytics. It’s like arguing with my dad who watches a game in April and ready to call the Yanks WS Champs.

i couldn't less about the analytics, it bores me. knowing whether a guy hits better in Atlanta with the grass swaying to left on a Wednesday doesn't help me understand the game better.

it's better if u don't go back n forth ..

What DO you care about then? Clearly not the analytics, business side, anything to do with numbers and being more efficient. It just sounds like you aren’t curious…

EYE come in peace

at this point in life for me baseball is pure entertainment, the one thing i look forward to every year like clockwork. the analytics, contracts, all that stuff is nothing i really wanna understand at this point in life. it ain't gonna make me love the game anymore, just too much to pay attention to, again for me .

my fault for being so girly up there :emoji_punch:

Dude walks 3.6% of the time and his horrific in the field. Doesn't do much for me.

All good man, just trying to understand. I’m sure my son will give me all tons of crap down the road.

Nothing but love, as always, to you and yours! 🤝

I mean they’re over the threshold though what else more does Passan want and why is he jumping to criticize the Yankees? It’s not as if the Yanks have sat idly during this offseason. They got the top Era leading SP and RP since 2020 iirc. Added much better production at 1st, as well as, better defense and solid production in the outfield. They’re waiting on their next move until they offload Stroman and his terrible contract. Just seems like a rage bait/clickbait tweet.

It always comes down to this. Yankees will always be a top 10. Even top 5 payroll.

Because they’ll always have a star or two or three and always make a college try at the playoffs. That costs money.
2 stars and 5 decent/good players is approaching $200mil on its own.

But can never say their approach is the same as the Dodgers, who are the team to beat.
How they handled 1B and 3B shows that.

They can come up with a solution for 3B. God I hope so. But still doesn’t feel the same over here.

You're right. Hal just isn't George. Here's payrolls from 2005. We were DOUBLE all but 1 team. It was the Yankees and everyone else. All that changed was the owners first name. It's frustrating.

And it isn’t to say Hal hasn’t tried. He just doesn’t go the extra step.

Lost Soto. But he gave a bonkers offer. He was never going to outbid Cohen. Not mad.
Pivoted to Fried. Great
Traded for Devin Williams. Great.
Traded for Bellinger. Solid.
Traded Trevi for Fernando Cruz. Not bad.

But then it feels like they just said that’s enough.
Goldy is a risk.
Let Gleyber walk without having both 2B/3B situated
3B is a trainwreck.
And are waiting on trying to unload Stroman before any move. Just pay the damn tax.

Hal did alright. But then just stopped mid air. And that isn’t going to get it done.

I don’t think he just stopped. The market for the most part has stopped and trade partners are penny pinching right now. It’s a league wide issue - just not for the Dodgers. And if that was any other organization, the way they’ve been handing out deals, in 5-10 years would cripple/bankrupt them.

I mean look at the Mets. They made one huge crazy deal, and then the rest of their signings have been very economical. Why wasn’t Passan super critical of them? With Cohen they could have gotten Soto, Snell, Fried, Burns with everything we’ve been told about him. They’re not even over a $300 mil payroll and this is back to back years for the Yanks.
