I kinda like Gardner more than Melky...Gardner certainly has the speed...he just needs to do a better job of putting the ball into play. I hope he is a MUCHbetter bunter this year than he was last year.

BTW, I just saw this...the early phases of Yankee Stadium's demolition have begun.

I know it's only the initial stages of the demolition, but it still bothers me seeing it.

I had forgotten he was your cousin...

yeah i mentioned before that i only met him once when i went to puerto rico in 95. i just got in touch with his side of the family in puerto rico through facebook. we're definitely gonna hook up this year so that should be pretty cool.......
You'll have to update us throughout the season.

I was very impressed with Albaladejo for the few appearances he made last season before he was injured. Looking forward to see how does this season. I can seehim, Phil Coke, and a new look Brian Bruney all putting in work out of the pen'

I really want to get to picking it up. I honestly thought it was just about A-Rod and how Torre his relation ship with Big Stein and Cashman after the 2007season.

i thought so too, but it has alot from the world series games , lots of details like clemens after throwing the bat at piazza went to the clubhouse and crieduncontrollably . how knoblauch after one of his throwing errors just went into the clubhouse between innings and started getting undressed and cleaning out hislocker saying he was done and quitting. torre had to talk him out of it.

the arod chapter is real brief and not as bad as people made it out to be. the one who gets torched so far, from what ive read, is david wells

like i said so far its a very good read if your a yankee fan and have fond memories of those championship years ......

Even when I'm sitting IN the new stadium, I'll still be thinking about the old one every time.

Damn, seeing those pics hurt.

Why don't we all go and just protest like idiots? They can't demolish the stadium with us in the way, can they?

Maybe I'm just thinking too much.

It sucks to see the stadium come down....they have to do it though...it would make no sense to have a new stadium when the old one will stay up

True story I'm at like page 150 & David Cone is the man.

Rick Helling is that dude too even though I always felt bad for him when the Yankees would just beat the Rangers #%# every year.

interesting read on Nick Swisher...hes gonna kill it this year

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

PARKERSBURG - The twinkle is back and Nick Swisher can't wait to tackle another Major League Baseball season.

Swisher returned to his old stomping grounds on the campus of Parkersburg High School during Monday's press conference inside Jack Stephens Memorial Gym toannounce the former PHS standout as the spokesman with Broughton Foods Company.

Not only was Swisher excited about having his face on bottles of chocolate milk, but the 28-year-old slugger was looking to make amends for last season when hehit .219 in a one-year stint with the Chicago White Sox.

It's a new year with a new ballclub as the switch-hitting first baseman/outfielder leaves this week for spring training in Tampa, Fla., and joins his NewYork Yankee teammates=

"Last year was kind of a bump in the road," Swisher said. "The only thing that was down last year was my batting average, and a lot of peopleput a lot of stress on that. I know after last year, I could have not worked any harder than I did this past offseason.

"My father (Steve Swisher) told me about a week ago that I have the twinkle back. Somewhere along the line either the twinkle got taken from me or I lostit myself. But I'm back. I feel good - I'm smiling a lot more and I'm excited about playing baseball once again."

The Yankees acquired Swisher through a trade last November. With the White Sox, he hit 24 homers and drove in 69 runs while batting in every slot in the lineupexcept clean-up.

The Yankees may have added All-Star first baseman Mark Teixeira to their roster during the offseason, but Swisher still feels confident about nailing down astarting spot in the outfield.

"Obviously I will be back in the outfield somewhere," Swisher said. "I'll just go from there and see what happens after springtraining."

One thing is for sure, Swisher will have plenty of chocolate milk to keep him hydrated. He is part of a campaign being launched for the regional BroughtonDairy, which is about to announce to the world the natural goodness of chocolate milk as an energy drink.

"To represent Broughtons and the chocolate milk side of things, I absolutely love it because this is all I drink," Swisher said. "I don'tdrink white milk - not skim, not 2 percent. I drink chocolate milk.

"I guess now I have a pretty good supply coming to me."

Chocolate milk served as part of Swisher's post-workout regiment this past offseason. Not only did he train at Hall of Fame Chiropractic, but he alsopracticed at his father's hitting camp in Williamstown.

"I've lost 16 pounds and got myself into good physical shape," Swisher said.

Even though he owns two homes - one in Oakland, Calif., and another in Scottsdale, Ariz. - Swisher lived in his parent's basement this past winter. Keepinga low profile once he arrives in the Big Apple is one way he figures to stay away from the gossip of the New York tabloids. He has called Jason Giambi andJohnny Damon to get insight.

The first order of business is taking care of the facial hair and shaving the goatee.

"I'll look like an eighth grader again," Swisher said.

He is also ready to embark on The New Yankee Stadium, which features the same dimensions as the original Yankee Stadium where Swisher hit his onlyinside-the-park home run.

"It will be great to be a part of history," Swisher said. "The biggest challenge for me is to stay within myself. One of the greatest thingsabout playing for the Yankees is that every city you go to - whatever day it is - it is always a packed house because everyone wants to see the Yankeesplay."

David Robertson got married on Jan. 30. He and his wife went to Disney World for a week.

Robertson bailed on his honeymoon several times to drive to Tampa and throw bullpens.

"She understood," he said. "I want to make the team."
Gotta love hearing something like this.

I know what you mean, but Coke is here already.

Who's down for a "minor league team" for Team Yankees? We'll be "The Phil Cokeheads"
