News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

Surrreee.

No. Didnt care to see Jonah Hex. I can't take people seriously who thought that would be a good film. I doubt Green Lantern is part of this new DC Cinematic Universe.
So as long as you didn't see the trash movie it doesn't count :lol

Like I said it doesn't matter if they start over. I mean they did that and then gave us MOS. If you like that type of stuff that Snyder and Goyer **** out fine.
DC COMICS HAVE TURNED LOBO INTO A MALE MODEL

So, you know how we often criticize the way female comic book characters are overly sexualized? And how some at DC were altered specifically (and drastically) for the New 52 reboot? Well it looks like it’s finally happened to one of their male characters. Ladies and gentlemen, this is your new Lobo. Hit the jump to see the full look and see a comparison with the old version.

It’s not a bad design from Kenneth Rocafort by any means, but it certainly isn’t this:

They went through a few styles before settling on this one (see them all on the DC Source Blog). The new Lobo will be explored by Marguerite Bennett (who we recently interviewed) in Justice League #23.2: Lobo.

What do you think of the updated look?
I seen this and :{ Was gonna keep it just to the comic thread. Didn't want to make it seem like a pile on of DC comics mistakes. Not to mention the storyline and approach of introducing this new yet original Lobo.

Saw that new Lobo too and was extremely disappointed but it definitely fits in more in the comic book thread.

Also what current regime of DC movies? The ONE movie that is part of their current cinematic universe? I am sure they would need to bend over backwards and jump through hurdles to fit any character in. Would be practically impossible.

MoS opened up the world for all new heroes and villains to exist. Think of MoS as a start of a whole new universe and DC will go from there and it would not be impossible.

I didnt think Man of Steel was the greatest superhero movie but there is just no way to make that trash franchise into a great a movie. The fact that they were able to make that movie out of a steaming pile of garbage known as Superman is blows my mind.

I hate superman with a passion. Dude has too many powers and is never in any real danger unless he is facing other Kryptionians and genetic test tube babies of himself. Yet somehow they made a decent movie out of it. I doubt I would even like a sequel because they have exhausted him already. Nothing else they can do with him so they had to throw Batman in the sequel just so they can have something to work with.

With that said it was better than many of the Avengers phase 1 movies and Iron Man 3 by far

That was a sarcastic reply to the **** Buddha Bless is spewing. I agree with you
If they're going the The Dark Knight Returns route Detroit is perfect.

Didnt even think of it that way. I just love Chi architecture so I was talking ****.

My bad. I spend more time in here and with all the comic book movie news I kinda forgot this was the movie only thread... Is that lobo movie still in development hell?

Nah, the article that was recently posted was like 5 years old. :lol

I honestly didn't think of them going to Gotham in the MOS sequel. For some reason Superman going to Gotham did not cross my mind. I figured if anything it'd be a quick glimpse of the sky line if anything then get to the bat cave then Bats in the the bat wing flying to Metropolis or Bruce Wayne showing up in Metropolis.

From what I read it seemed like it was Bats coming to check Supes cuz he's so paranoid and cuz Supes killed Zod. If something leads Supes to Gotham, then I can totally see some kryptonite added in so Batman can beat the crap out of him (I doubt they're gonna hold true to the fact that Superman can end Batman easily even if he has kryptonite).

Great that Det gets that money and attention though. With their current landscape it has great potential for a lot of certain movies.

If Batman has kryptonite Supes would have to kill him to beat him. And Supes can't kill.

At least that is my understanding of the conflict

Keep ruffalo completely out of a Planet Hulk movie. Don't care for him and don't need to see him in the movie.

Will post it here too since the discussion is just crossing to both threads anyways.

Look, Nolan reached out to Affleck, will the hate for him finally subside now that Nolan actually approached him about the part?

Why Ben Affleck Said Yes To BATMAN; Has Also Been Signed Up For "Multiple" Other Movies

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the process began earlier this year when director Zack Snyder had finished working on Man of Steel with producer Christopher Nolan. Snyder and the studio already had ideas for a follow-up, and Snyder reached out to Affleck to check the star's interest.

It's unclear when these talks began. Multiple sources say the studio approached Josh Brolin, as well as other actors. Ryan Gosling was also a possibility, but the actor dislikes the idea of sequels.

But Affleck was curious, and initial talks focusing on story and character began. Once Affleck was satisfied, WME's Patrick Whitesell and Ziffren Brittenham's Sam Fischer began negotiating his role in the Superman sequel. Sources say that Affleck has been signed for multiple other movies. The talks were so secretive that many Warner execs and most WME agents remained unaware of their existence.

On one level, Affleck’s return to superheroes seems bewildering. The Oscar-winning co-writer of Good Will Hunting drew scorn after donning the red suit for Daredevil, and later agreed it wasn't his best work. After he'd recovered and turned in a bravura performance directing and starring in The Town, Fox offered him the chance to direct and star in a Daredevil reboot -- but Affleck turned it down.

More recently, Nolan offered Affleck the chance to direct Man of Steel. Affleck declined, seemingly because of a desire not to return to the world of capes -- despite being an avowed comic book fan.

Because since it’s considered a sequel to Man of Steel and not a Batman movie, any potential underperformance issues won't ultimately land on his shoulders.

The deal also potentially lines Affleck up to star in and direct Warner Bros.' answer to The Avengers: The eventual Justice League movie.

Also with Affleck being more serious and favoring good smaller films over money these days, then the script must be really good or something he found interesting, interesting enough to sing up despite the risk of his career becoming a running joke again.

He's also signed up for multiple films so it looks like more Bats for him and as a director is a possibility.

:lol You need to read more comic books man.

I read a lot of comics. They just happen to ALL have the letter X on the title :lol

I used to read Spiderman a lot but I grew out of it. Guardians I have been reading on and off for a while now. Like the Marvel Now stuff. Finally got into Thor. Really well written book. New Avengers is also suprisingly good. I like Inhumans but they havent done anything with that for a while. Hulk I read on and off but havent touched it since Planet Hulk/WW Hulk. I'll read hulk when there is a highly talked about story arc.

Just finally got into DC with the new 52 and I am underwhelmed. General consensus is the whole new 52 reboot was too half assed. So far the only books I can say I like from DC is JL, Batwoman, the Batman titles that focus on Batman (none of that batgirl, nightwing trash. Red Hood is okay) and I still haven't read JLA and JLD.

Not past issue 14/15 or so on any New 52 title

EDIT: Supergirl. I like Supergirl but that is the Only Supes comic I **** with

Never read any Pre New 52 books? You should check them out. No offense, but how young are you?

^
Never read any pre New 52 DC titles. Read Mad House on Mad Earth and Joker Graphic Novel after New 52 came out. Only books i read consistently since I was a kid are X-Titles.

Since I know they are bringing back Inhumans, which I really like, I caught up to all Marvel Cosmic Universe (only the Marvel Now stuff). And I will continue to be up to date on them. Only exception is Avengers. Avengers comics are bland. Really nothing I care for. I like Uncanny Avengers because I consider it an X-Book. I like New Avengers as well. As for their solo comics Thor is the only one I like. Hulk I like but not enough to keep up with.

I am 24. Like I said. Superman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Powergirl. All them dudes are practically the same. Batman has the same issue as well with all them knockoffs.

I got into X-Men because everyone was drastically different with exceptions of course. If it wasnt for X-Men I wouldn't care for comics.

There are a whole bunch of classics, pre New 52. Too many to list down, but here's some from the Bat books since you've already started with it (http://www.ign.com/articles/2011/10/25/the-25-greatest-batman-graphic-novels)

Agree that Thor is awesome. Hawkeye is a great read too.

Anything to appeal to women. Lobo is going to flop harder than Jonah Hex. Why waste resources on this movie?

^Thanks. I'll check em out. When jumping into a new platform I don't like dealing with purists. You can see some of that in this thread. Even on NT I feel bad for new heads who just got into sneakers. People need to calm down. Not like they can control when they are born. So once I found something I like and could get into without help i just stuck to it (fashion, sneakers, X-Men, etc). Before the New 52. After I saw TDK I wanted to try some Bat comics and the backlash I got from simply inquiring about it was ridiculous.

The worst purist are:

Video game purist > Comic book purist > Fashion Purists > Sneakerhead Purist

And yes I am using the word purist lightly. Cuz none of them compare to video game purist.

Video game purist aren't as bad as comic purist. I feel like I fall under all four categories and I will say fashion purist are the worst

I am not a purist. I am just heavily into those 4 things. Fashion purist are all about letting you have a different opinion then bashing you for it but at least if you want to get into fashion they won't deter you with their purism. They are nowhere near the worst.

Too me vg purists were the worst but I've stayed away from that contingent for years now and have come across more of the other 3 lately.

I don't even know what a fashion purist is. It just seems like those who are really into it or in the industry can be snobby.
