News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

They just casted the wrong actor for Hawkeye...Reynolds should have had that role, but I guess he's already tied up to one too many failed comic book characters
Yeah, I don't even care for Hawkeye but Reynolds would've fit real well in Avengers. He would've been really good and I think good enough to turn that role in to a tv series at the least going off the success of the comic.

Too bad BPRD, his role as Deadpool, and that awful GL movie has him associated with failure when superheroes are involved. Funny how many probably wouldn't even mention his role in Blade.

Ryan Reynolds is terrible too. :lol

Every comic book movie he's been in has been bad. Plus I doubt they would of put him in there with Scarlet. He needs to just relax and retire with his millions.

:lol totally forgot about him and Scarlett, yeah probably a terrible idea to pair them up...lol

reynolds sucks. Keep him out of all superhero / comic movies. So tired of him playing a smartass in all of them with unfunny one-liners.

I like Reynolds, I find him funny...just the script sucked for the characters he played.

I do feel bad for Reynolds, he seems to have gotten tied up with bad writing and terrible directing than anything else.

He still has that stereotypical hero look though, you can almost put him in any heroes tights and it could work, look-wise. He can actually act when they aren't giving him corny and stupid lines to say though, I mean he wasn't bad as Wade in Origins at all, it wasn't even him as BarakClops.

But these days, people are probably running away from him at this point. An R-Rated and well written Deadpool film could resurrect it all for him though.

I think I liked him in Blade most...dude was a clown :lol

Blade 3 was garbage. Nobody mentions him because nobody mentions the movie. Blade started and ended with 1 for me

Honestly as I watched WGH Avengers cartoon and saw how important Hawkeye was and how much of a smart *** he was, I was dissappointed with Whedon's choice, I mean why out of all the actors you go with Renner...dude has the personality of a wall....

I would have even thrown the role at Bradley Cooper before Renner

I think the Bradley Cooper's, Liam Hemsworth's, etc. are gonna end up taking his roles if he doesn't strike gold with an R rated Deadpool movie.

He excels at being a funny smart *** in a serious action type movie. If it's written well he can succeed but a lot of this other stuff he's done just has been missing key components that he doesn't come out unscathed when everybody says it sucks.

You have to consider his role in the film though, he was practically under Lokis control throughout the whole film so the sarcastic characteristic wouldn't have been shown anyways.

I don't know, I guess his type of character is just not needed (it's practically the Deadpool, Flash, Hal, etc... persona) especially with RDJ there throwing his own jabs, even if it was Reynolds I am just not sure he could hang or he will just be underwhelming. I guess a banter between the two could work well but I am just not sure it is needed as long as RDJ is there.

Oh don't get me wrong, I do not like Renner at all. I am not defending him. :lol I actually hate that casting too, I'm just saying, I just do not really need to see Hawkeye shine no matter who it is (though Renner playing him makes me dislike the character further). It's just not necessary, I prefer others get the spotlight.

Hawkeye sucks, period. He's pointless in the movie and IMO just there because they couldn't throw in wolverine or someone worth being in it.

I feel you....it's hard balancing so many characters, Whedon did nail EVERYONE but him....casting of the avengers was superb otherwise, each actor owned their role, I specially like Hemsworth....dude is the epitome of Thor.

Helllll nahhh Hawkeye was clutch in the cartoon, prolly the most level headed of all the avengers next to Rodgers.

Also, is it just me or there is a lingering feeling that Falcon will likely get the sarcastic, wise-cracking personality too especially with Mackie playing the role?

Lol, we're not talking about the cartoon

Nah but that's why I'm saying they dropped the ball with his character in the movie....in the movie his character just gets overshadowed by the incredible powers of all the non-humans and even tho Stark is human, NOBODY outshines Stark...lol

meh, Mackie always comes off as a douche to me...I did like his chemistry with Renner in the HurtLocker so if they are ever on screen together which I think is inevitable, I kinda look forward to it.

i still :{
at his portrayal of Pac in notorious

I'm not a fan of Ryan Reynolds' acting. I don't think he's suited for serious or dramatic roles. I don't even find him funny either. He looks like a rom-com poster boy. His style of comedy is better suited for Jennifer Aniston, Anna Faris, Elizabeth Banks type movies.

His value to Hollywood used to be purely just to get millions of women to pay to watch him on screen. His last couple movies have been tanking though. I think his drawing power has dropped substantially. Or maybe his prior fan base don't like movies that aren't rom-coms. After the critical and commercial failures of his last few projects, I don't know if studios are going to use him in anything that isn't a sure bet anyway.

There's the Deadpool movie that's floating around that he's trying to make happen, but fool me once.

Off the top of my head:

Buried
Smokin Aces
Amityville Horror
Safe House

As mentioned before he wasn't bad in Blade III, film sucked but he was good in it.
He was funny in Van Wilder and he was alright in The Proposal.

I mean I wouldn't put him up for an Oscar but I've seen him act well in enough films that he can make it work with the right script.
