News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

What's that about?
It's a dark fantasy manga set in something similar to medieval europe about an orphan who grows up to be a mercenary named Guts who carries a big *** sword that eventually befriends and joins a band of mercenaries.

Lots of action in wars and fighting monsters. Eventually the leader and his friend goes through some ****, fails to achieve his dream and when Guts comes back in the picture he does some super foul **** and Guts swears revenge.

There are supposedly 7 Robin hood films in development.

One will be called Robin hood 2058 and it's supposed to be some mission impossible type of film.

Starting with that movie?

Or unrelated to each other?

Is this like the King Arthur planned universe that didn't work out?

it's just one of those films ideas in public domain that studios latched on

we've seen it numerous times before like armageddon/deep impact, prestige/illusionist, etc...

CHARLIE'S ANGELS Reboot Sets Cast: Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott And Ella Balinska

Following a tease from director Elizabeth Banks earlier in the week, the main cast for Sony's Charlie's Angels reboot has been announced.

Previous reports indicated that Kristen Stewart (Twilight, Snow White and the Hunstman) and Naomi Scott (Power Rangers, Aladdin) were on board as two thirds of the team and that's now been confirmed, but Lupita Nyong'o (Star Wars, Black Panther) will not be a part of the film.

Instead, 21-year old British newcomer Ella Balinska (Nyela’s Dream, Midsomer Murders) will play the final Angel.

In addition to directing, Banks will play Bosely.

Production is expected to commence in Berlin this September. Charlie's Angels has also been moved from its original June 7, 2019 release date to September 27.

Skydance developing The Old Guard adaptation with Gina Prince-Bythewood

The Hollywood Reporter brings word that filmmaker Gina Prince-Bythewood has signed on to direct The Old Guard, an adaptation of the recent comic book series in development at Skydance.

This marks another comic book property that Prince-Bythewood has signed on to direct, having previously directed the first episode of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger and still in the midst of developing Sony’s Silver & Black (a spin-off of Spider-Man focusing on super spy SIlver Sable and world renowned thief Black Cat). Development on Silver & Black has hit snags along the way and while it’s stalled THR notes that Prince-Bythewood has jumped onto the fast-tracked Old Guard adaptation.

The Old Guard was created by Greg Rucka and artist Leandro Fernandez and tells the story of old soldiers who never die…and yet cannot seem to fade away. Trapped in an immortality without explanation, Andromache of Scythia—”Andy”—and her comrades ply their trade for those who can find—and afford—their services. But in the 21st century, immortality is a hard secret to keep, and when you live long enough, you learn that there are many fates worse than death.

Netflix orders dramedy series based on graphic novel Daybreak

Netflix has announced that they are developing a new high school dark comedy, Daybreak. The new series will be a post-apocalyptic dramedy consisting of 10 episodes and is created by Aron Eli Coleite (Star Trek: Discovery, Heroes) and Brad Peyton (Frontier, Rampage) who are serving as executive producers along with Jeff Fierson (Frontier). The release date for Daybreak is unknown at this time.

The official synopsis is as follows: “Based on the graphic novel by Brian Ralph, the subversive dark comedy Daybreak finds 17 year old high school outcast Josh searching for his missing girlfriend Sam in post-apocalyptic Glendale, California. Joined by a ragtag group of misfits including a pyromaniac 12 year old Angelica and Josh’s former high school bully Wesley, now turned pacifist samurai, Josh tries to stay alive amongst the horde of Mad Max-style gangs (evil jocks, cheerleaders turned Amazon warriors), zombie-like creatures called Ghoulies, and everything else this brave new world throws at him.”
