Not going to be touching that one at all.

probably not the thread for this, but why does michael smith feel the need to raise his voice every time he opens his mouth?

i mean i don't know why i'm watching numbers never lie at this moment in the first place, but he flat out sucks

why do these idiots who get their own shows on this network think yelling and arguing is a thing viewers want to see? i know espn tries to sensationalize everything, but it's tired

is dude really trying to argue that Suh isnt dirty , or that Matthews is as dirty as Suh ?

I don't remember the last time I watched ESPN outside of MNF last week (and today).

Outside the Lines is the only thing worth watching.

Revis is unhappy with Shiano's rules and lack of man coverage. I agree with him on the man coverage, why pay a man to man corner so much to play zone. No reason Leonard Johnson should of been covering Colston in the slot on the last drive.

Isn't that kind of what happened to Namdi in Philly?

Either way, even if I am a primarily zone defensive scheme guy, I would still play to my strengths...especially in crunch time. That play to Colston, him and Jimmy Graham should have been completely blanketed and force someone else to step up and make a big catch. Hell, you could even run a Zone Man coverage, where everyone shifts their zone coverage based on where Revis is and who he is checking (Colston in this instance).

I say we push for the old crew to come back and let Dungy or Chucky head coach and get MontyeKiffin for the D-coordinator...

Actually Dallas can keep Monte now :lol :{ :rolleyes

That is a good question though. I am curious to see who Buc Em will say...Cowher isn't coming back and Gruden I think likes his MNF gig, unless he would come back to us. I just don't want another damn college football coach. Their track record is more negative than good to warrant to hire another one.

The Panthers coach will probably be the first coach fired this year. They upgraded their defense but did zero to help Cam in the off season...

Oakland Raiders strong safety Tyvon Branch is out indefinitely with what is believed to be a fractured fibula, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

:(

who do you think in the NFC can actually replicate what seattle was able to do last night?

I've noticed that they're using a lot of Bill Polian on ESPN to comment on teams, scouting, and their front offices. Since my wife is a Colts fan, I follow them pretty closely and really want to know... how? Why does he have a job? From like 2004 onward, his drafts were so incredibly bad and Matt Millen-esque that I could do nothing but :{ at them.

Well, I had a little downtime today and decided to look back on Bill Polian's tenure with the Colts. Let's take a look at this 'scouting genius' and his picks that panned out (I'm talking above average guys, not the Jacob Tamme's of the world):

1998 - Peyton Manning and Steve McKinney. Can't argue there.
1999 - Edge, Mike Peterson, and Hunter Smith. Great draft, even if Mike Peterson did most of his work after Indy.
2000 - Marcus Washington. Ended up a Pro Bowler in Washington.
2001 - Reggie Wayne and Ryan Diem. Studs.
2002 - Dwight Freeney and David Thornton. Finally hit on some defense that stuck.
2003 - Dallas Clark and Robert Mathis.
2004 - Bob Sanders. DPOY!
2005 - Nobody. Kelvin Hayden had nine picks in six years.
2006 - Antoine Bethea. Joseph Addai is already out of the league. Coulda had MJD.
2007 - Nobody. Drafted nine guys, got a combined 95 starts out of them.
2008 - Pierre Garcon. Also drafted Marcus Howard, Tom Santi, Steve Justice and Mike Hart... :lol
2009 - Nobody. Austin Collie was good for a season. Curtis Painter, Donald Brown? Not like he could have had, you know, LeSean McCoy.
2010 - Nobody. Pat Angerer is still around and injury prone.
2011 - Anthony Costanzo... I guess.

First round whiffs? Jerry Hughes, Donald Brown, Anthony Gonzalez, Joseph Addai, Marlin Jackson. His last decent first round pick was DALLAS CLARK IN 2003.

:x :x :x

How do guys like him and Matt Millen have jobs? How?

Can an NFL team take a flier on me and let me **** their franchise up for years so I can work as an analyst?

Monte Kiffin.

For Bucs fans- how has Revis actually been playing in zone?  Is it just that he's being underutilized or is he looking bad out there?  Curious.

I mean all of ESPN's NFL team is basically guys who were failures.  Trent Dilfer?  HERM EDWARDS??

Then again, some of the guys who actually were great at their jobs are terrible commentators.  Could Tony Dungy possibly spew more vague cliches and offer less insight into anything?

Underutilized, when he was on the jets he was all over the field. Following the best receiver that was on the field all day. A couple of plays the Saints went in Twins I-formation and he would be playing zone on the weak side :{.

I been saying Polain was out touch for years and still hear it from his commentary. Brain Billick too

you can basically sum it up with the season where peyton didn't play. he hid so many deficiencies on that team it was unreal.

jerry hughes went to my high school :lol
