I know Desean and I can tell all you guys that he's no more involved in a gang than many other athletes that grew up in the hood.
I was blown away by this especially after all the work he's done for the Philly and LA communities.

I guess the eagles are saying its cool to be a slur spewing racist, but if you happen to know black people from the hood you grew up, it's not ok

it it's wrong for the eagles (or whoever did it) to spoil djax's name like that. you're basically stigmatizing a guy who's never had any run ins with the law. just cause he knows people who are affiliated? we all know "bad" people. some of us are even related to them. does that mean we all should be subject to losing our jobs strictly on association? pretty dirty. seems they were looking for several excuses to get rid of him and this seemed like the one that would stick the most since it's so tabloid

Completely agree...story had to be planted by the Eagles. I just don't understand why you would do that. Players get cut everyday. The fans woulda got even more pissed but so what, they'll have their butts in those seats on opening day and if you win they'll forget DJax in about 2.2 seconds.

what incentive would the eagles have to release this information?

considering they were trying to trade him, them releasing negative information about him hurts their bargaining position

Exactly...why would the Eagles do this not even just personally speaking but on a business level why would you intentionally devalue one of your assets that you want to off load so that you get 5 cents on the dollar More likely they knew about this for a while, have the MOST info that we aren't privy to in the public etc, and they contacted teams...oh and he has a new agent who doesn't/didn't get ANY of the money from the new deal Desean signed a coupl eyrs ago and would only get paid if he got a new deal elsewhere (hence him wanting a new deal after this past season). Honestly releasing him was probably the best for him, I doubt the Eagles released this info on him, it got out and they couldn't properly control the news after that. Plus Howie Roseman, our GM was here when Andy was and Reid and Desean were especially close from all reports. That would also be really out of character for our front office.

And yall gotta stop the false equivalency with Riley Cooper and Desean's (speculation) they're not really comparable bc we don't have all the info here

Yep this is also very true....if you aren't from that type of environment you aren't able to have a nuanced opinion about this tbh...I can see both sides though, a billion dollar org/company wouldn't want to have this hanging over them...shoot I have family members tied up in stuff and they're probably not the most "reputable" people around by most standards but they have spoken to me and given first hand advice etc about things that have genuinely helped
