Good for him

This

Would of been nice to have him. But I'm sure he saw how far his value fell and the risk for an injury wasn't worth it. He's only 27 though. I wonder if he will try again after a year or two when he is legit 100%

Sounds like this is more about his concussions than his knee so this is probably goodbye forever, I was really rooting for his comeback too

Hopefully he earns a spot with the org. down the line

Sidney was a beast that one year in Minnesota when Favre was there, after that the injuries got the best of him.

@AdamSchefter: Chiefs are giving RB Jamaal Charles a two-year extension that makes him 2nd-highest paid back in league and ties him to KC for four seasons.

The rumor is Dalton about to get a contract like Kaepernick's.....

Looks like the Bengals are out of the SB race for the next six years. Let's go CLEVELAND!!!!!

out of pure curiosity... what would any of you have the Bengals do? Cut or Not re-sign Dalton so they are bad for 2 to 3 years while they look for another QB?

Kaep's deal isn't bad for any team... He can be cut at any time. It's 6 one year deals... problem?

I wasn't a fan of him in college and wouldn't of drafted him from jump, but they did... And they clearly aren't getting rid of him after his 3rd year. (which is when I think you do something like that... Dolphins... )

Bengals can either resign Dalton, try to move up in the draft for Mariota or Winston, or make a move for a veteran Qb.

Besides qb the Bengals have enough talent to get to a Superbowl.

Both will probably be a top 3 to 5 pick... Bengals will be a playoff team... Somewhere around the 20 pick. There will be little to no chance of them being able to draft either QB.

So leaves the ladder, What veteran QB could they get that is 1. available and 2. better than Dalton?

I do agree with their talent, but they got knocked out by giving up over 20 points in the playoffs if I recall. Goes back to the Romo argument for me... One person does not win or lose a game. Can be a big factor late in games though.

Dalton just has to get hot at the right time for the Bungals to win a Super Bowl, we've seen it before with Flacco and Manning.

We've seen Flacco and Manning get hot in the playoffs.

We've seen Dalton have better regular seasons than both of those QBs and then disappear in the playoffs.

Personally, I would let him walk. I could be wrong though.

He doesn't have the arm to make the plays needed in cold weather.

The Superbowl wont be cold this year since its in Arizona but he wont make it that far anyway

:|

That's the point home games, road games vs NE and other AFC north will be cold.

Somebody last year mentioned how he his numbers are bad in cold weather.

Dalton was 80% of why they lost against SD. Every time they had a chance, he threw a pick. It was one of the worst playoff games I've ever seen by a QB.
