Do we let the teams before the Bills in the 2018 NFL Draft off too easily? I know we, Jalen Ramsey, etc. all overlooked the Wyoming dude, but it's literally these GM's jobs not to miss talent. That's their 9-to-5, not ours, even if we watch the games.

No. 1 - Browns - Baker Mayfield (they'd have had their quarterback for five years now)
No. 2 - Giants - Saquon Barkley (they'd have had their quarterback for five years now)
No. 3 - Jets - Sam Darnold (they'd have had their quarterback for five years now)
No. 4 - Browns - Denzel Ward (second pick in the top-4, they'd have had their QB for five years now)
No. 5 - Broncos - Bradley Chubb (good pick, but they'd rather have Josh Allen than have guaranteed Russ $220M)
No. 6 - Colts - Quenton Nelson (another good pick, but they'd rather have Josh Allen than the Wentz/M.Ryan carousel)
No. 7 - Bills - Josh Allen

Him and Chris Simms are the worst ex
-QB analysts on TV imo

This is a hindsight question. At the time of the draft he had the most question marks to him. Heavy boom or bust from all the analysts.

That was a weird QB draft. Baker at #1 was seen as a reach even at the time. Darnold seemed like a safe pick but his interceptions were always an issue. Josh Allen was like Justin Herbert but even more of a project because he went to a small school. He was also a lot less accurate. Like I said earlier, he really had to work to become a star. He wasn’t impressive at all at first.

But it's wrong to say Josh Allen wasn't considered amongst the best draft products because he went 7th when it was all said and done, and it wasn't like a Clelin Farrell reach even if Allen went slightly higher than some predicted.

Some folks questioned the Bills for taking him so high. He was very raw coming out of Wyoming

That's true I just can't believe he had this in him and six teams didn't see it, and then the Bills came along. He was terrible in big games in college. His game against Oregon was awful. But there were rumors about a month before the draft of him going to Cleveland at No. 1 and everyone was like, 'Are you kidding?'... but that was the stock at least in GM/Schefter/Rapaport misinformation circles. So it wasn't like he wasn't thought of in those 1-7 picks. Yet 6 teams missed it.
