I considered their defense weakening, but looking at the schedule, I have the Niners entering their bye week at 5-2.

Champ: Prediction W/L's is always tricky before the season. 5-2 is doable. I can also see 4-3 and with a little bad luck, 3 and 4. If the Niners make it to the bye week 5-2, I'd say they handled that adversity very well and will be right up there in the running.
