yeah I definitely know the feeling man. I'm a little disappointed too but you live and you learn. if $23 is a big deal then you probably should cut back on buying sneakers to be honest. or just make that $23 back in some other way with your spending, like next couple times you would get fast food or takeout just eat some cheap stuff at home insteadtrue. at one point i wouldn't have cared about the $23, but now i wanna save every dollar i can, specifically when it comes to kicks considering i already spend way too much.
food >> shoes. u can't pay me to eat fast food. that's a major reason ppl aren't living as long these days, but i digress. to your point tho, it's not that the $23 is a big deal or has a major effect on my finances, it's simply the principal at this point. why spend more money for a shoe when we can get most pairs and at a pretty decent discount. every dollar adds up and this mentality i didn't have before. knowing i usually don't unDS for months sometimes even longer after RD, there's no need for impatience anymore when it comes to kicks. if one leaves $23 on the table on ten different releases, u do the math. that's another pair and then some.
just saying, i used to blow money on kicks and not care about coupon codes and discounts, but now i see the error in my ways. not tryna just be giving away extra money that i don't have to anymore. that could go to my children or moms or something.
on another note, my pair just came in from the bay and man these are too clean. absolutely love them and happy to have them in the collection. i gotta do a 1s collection post soon...
Its funny, this is exactly how it was back in the day. I remember the 2001 Royal 1s going for $69.99 at stores because nobody wanted them. They were everywhere. For the people that have the money.... all these retros in colorways no one wants now, that we are seeing in outlets, these are going to be the very shoe that young guys 10 yrs from now, say "oh man if I could just have a pair of Bronze 5s!" Funny I know.
You can't compare a classic OG cw to something like Bronze 5s... For the most part, GR retro+ cws simply don't hold their value like OGs do. I'd say 2015 Aqua 8s are a better example-they got marked down in outlets to $140 or cheaper but you know in 6-7 years these same pairs will be lusted after and DS pairs will be going for much more than $140. I could also see the same thing happening to 2016 NA TBs that recently released and are going on disco now.

Understood, however.... try buying a pair of OG Laney 5s in 2011 for less than $500... or a pair of Midnight Blue 6s for less than $300 around that time or even now.... There is truth to what I'm saying about these so called wack colorways. There is a generation coming that will give a damn about OG colorways because all they will say is, "aww man I had the Bobcat 10s in junior high! Copped fo sho!" And cycle starts all over again. Oh yeah, OG colorways.... What happened with Black Metallic Vs? Its started already with the lack of care. You can't compare a classic OG cw to something like Bronze 5s... Just got a chance to really look these over An compare, and they really made me realize how butter soft the unc are compared, but the storm blues are a clean looking shoe still.View media item 2293751

So true. Friends thought I was crazy for selling my Black Cement 3s a week ago. But I know they are either coming Black Friday, Christmas, or most likely next year. For a shoe that I may wear 3x per year, I can wait for that NA version and rock something else. They comin.i think the difference now though is that JB won't be waiting nearly as long to re-retro most of the popular pairs. so whereas it used to be 7 to 10 years and sometimes even more between re-retros of the same model, it will only be 3-4 years moving forward. take infrared 6s, black/white 1s and HGG 13s, for example. this affects demand and value.
