I noticed that on the latest retros the straps are a little shorter than the OG's i.e. a bit too short(or at least in my shoe size), consequently I don't velcro them anymore to ball outdoors, otherwise my feet feel like they're choked up in a vice. They still offer more than enough support without the straps tied up though, so they still remain my go to shoes to ball on abrasive surfaces.

I bought these over the 8s back then. I was a sophomore in high school and had only worn Js since the 5th grade. Raids were special. I wish someone at NIKE knew that.

Definitely more popular. They were like $20-25 less than the 8's so more folks could afford them. I remember damn near everyone in my school having a pair at some point.

i can understand why an nba player would cut the straps off. when i had my white black ogs the left shoe rubber piece that the strap came out of would dig into my foot when strapped up
