I have to agree here. That is laughable. It’s a darn low cut shoe. It doesn’t need straps, locks, and gimmicks.

Glad they kept the pull tabs on the heel and ADDED the tongue but the real improvement here is the fact that there is added heel cushioning

Like many not a big fan of the laces.
