me and you have got it in in the past and believe it or not on this topic we kinda agree...BUT..I think the above statement is REACHING...JP would NEVER say that the Yeezy influences his design of the 8's (spend some time in the 8 thread and you'll understand why)...I think that sometimes the problem that people have with you here on NT is you try too hard some times...You could simply state that the design looks similar and leave it at that...No need to try and cosign your statement by pulling JP into this...

I think the point being made is don't knock it until you've tried it...Yeezys are top notch...and properly executed design...with materials to back it up...taste is a matter of opinion but quality product is quality product...

Oh and on another note..there WAS a GR Yeezy..it was called the RT1 (minus the strap) and it bricked out at retail....I picked up a pair when they discounted the hell outta them..and %*$* why not???? Who wants to pay retail if they don't have too...limited doesn't make a sneaker better or worse...your better off copping for retail then getting cracked in the head..just ask all the dudes hunting South Beaches right now when they could have been had with no problem...the OG Yeezy release was a disaster because Retailers made it a disaster with raffles etc...I can 100% Guarantee that Nike will have MUCH more control of the releases this time...

i have no idea who designed lebrons, i'm not into 'em like that, not enough to care. but the 8's look so similar it's hard to believe they weren't an influence...

and it's especially funny since dude said lebron 8's were his fav and they look so much like yeezys, minus the strap.

Yeah the quality is all there. One of the most well produced sneakers I've ever purchased from Nike.

Yeah the quality is all there. One of the most well produced sneakers I've ever purchased from Nike.

Yeezys are actually decent...just the hype and price kills it.

The hype really killed this sneaker...people just can't look past the hypebeasts and appreciate the pair. People say, oh "if yeezy's name wasn't on it, nobody would care!" ...well if Yeezy's name wasn't on it...yall wouldn't be hatin as much either.

I think it's a dope design, if anything, it's an homage to classic Nike sneakers, with a slight modern twist. It's simple, but not too simple. If you don't like these, you probably don't like much of the older Nike shoes. A lot of thought and creativity was brought to the table if you read the article about how it was designed, or seen the production photos. Yeezy and company knew what they were doing.

And to top that...the materials, material placement, and colors....just perfectly executed...and different. Where have you seen these colorways before?

I mean look at that silhouette

 

thats all fine and dandy, if nike really have faith in this shoe it shouldn't of made customers jump thru flamin loopholes to get em.

nike knew they would sell from day 1, they're not stupid.
They wanted it to be limited, for what reasons, i dont know

The only thing the Yeezy and Lebron 8 have in common is the mid-cut ankle and low cut heel. Nothing else. You're seriously reaching to claim these sneakers "look so much the same".

2) I never even said the Lebron 8's were my favorite. I just said they're one of the recent sneakers I like.
