They’re okay to hoop in… but it’s AFTERWARDS where there’s an issue (at least for me).

Young hoopers and smaller guys (I’m 6’2 187) these are probably fine for y’all.

The 8's were my least favourite in the line. Caused so much issues and unnecessary injuries that still bother me 10 years later.

I never understood the hype with the 8's... thin tongue and no cushion being the 2 main issues of this shoe for me (I know these are a fan favourite so before I get my head ripped off, let me underline this part FOR ME). The protro 8's are a lot better as they fix the two main issues in the shoe, but still nothing like the 6's.

Prefer the cushioning in the 5s and 6s, but like the flexibility of the knit upper in the 8s more. Glad they changed the tongue on the protro for sure.

Did you play in the originals?

Yeah I had a pair…. Don’t really remember all that much about how they played outside of the weight and minimal cushioning set up. Just wanted to revisit the shoe years later… not necessarily disappointed because I knew what I was getting into, but was curious as to whether or not I could make them work.
