If you linger on a single design philosophy for too long things become stale.

KD capped his flyknit generational cycle at 3 years. That seems like a reasonable lifespan.

I think flyknit creates a lot of restrictions aesthetically, specifically with blocking. After a while it feels like you're shopping for carpet with max zoom underneath.

I've been a fan of both lines but I'm starting to feel flyknit fatigue. Glad KD switched it up.
 
yeah kinda missing the standard shoe build with the tongue and all. those offered a semi customized fit for everybody. they are on the heavy side but were durable. lacing system on knit shoes was always hit or miss for me

Plus, I grew up with leather shoes so I also just prefer leather. Example: LeBron 7 Red Carpet is perfect.

saw the Red Carpets at my Nike outlet store on the wall, 30% off so $140 + tax...couldn't pass it up, had multiple people asking where I got em lol...can't wait to try em out next week!
