I was wondering the same thing. I’m wondering if they had to all get new unis and it was easier to stitch the names straight across the bottom. I know the ones with social justice messages had them across the top.

I think these names under the number may be a preview of next seasson Nike strategy to make fans purchase jerseys again, together with Jordan brand logo.
For example, if you are a Lebron fan, and next year the jersey has some changes, including not only a more gold colour, but also the names under the number, it may be enough for a new purchase, even if you had this year one.
To be honest, some of us changed their Lebron jersey just because Nike logo was stitched, so a change in the name location is enough for an upsell
