Twitter says the gold is for their 40th anniversary

I was speaking to a a buddy of mine that works in the accounting office for the Mavs and they said Cuban wanted to do something for the 40th anniversary but with Luka being homesick they incorporated black and gold to represent Real Madrid's championship seasons colors. I haven't looked them up but apparently there is a black and gold patch on the Real Madrid jersey that Luka really liked. He said this is an office rumor but with the jersey being on the internet he can confirm this is 100% it lol.

Apparently the font and colors are supposed to be close to this. He said it’s just a Google image shared with him so take it for what it’s worth. He said they’ll have a big announcement like any other team and probably make it about Dallas.
