Any path that leads to an NBA title is tough. The team has to still win 16 more games after playing 82. That's hard. And these daya it seem like som playoff team are banged up or missing key guys. So catching some breaks is just part of the recipe for winning. Not a reason to discredit a team's run.

it's not even the entire story of just putting Iggy in the starting line-up, the bigger story was taking Bogut out and limiting or cutting all his minutes. Bogut was useless, and a liability in the first 3 games. He was getting out played by Mozgov and killed in the pick and roll.

i am not knocking Iggy but you don't give the Finals MVP to a role player. he did great in limiting lebron and knocking down open shots but the entire GSW offense is revolved on Curry making the right play.

So Kawhi shouldn't have gotten it last year? He wasn't Timmy, Tony, or Manu.

Curry's offensive load or role was way bigger than Timmy's, Tony's or Manu's. Kawhi averaged the almost same amount of points as Tony, the Spur's leading scorer

Really? how so? SA needed Timmy's post dominance, TP's facilitating, and Manu's wing presence. There's no doubt that Steph played a big role for his team but he also disappeared for 2 games. When you're considered top tier, you're expected to show up, night in and night out. Iverson played w/ broken ligaments. Jordan had a stomach virus. You show up because your team needs you. SA needed Manu in the 12-13 finals but he disappeared and they paid for it.

Without Iggy guarding Bron the way he was, GS doesn't win. Now if that's not valuable, I don't know what is

If you don't understand that Curry's total load was greater than the indifivual load of Timmy, TP or Manu then I don't know what to say.

"When you're considered top tier, you're expected to show up, night in and night out." you say that like Iggy didn't put up a 7 point game or go 2-11 and 4-10 from the ft line in other games.

Without Curry getting trapped and getting open shots for Green, Iggy or Barnes, GSW don't win. Now if that's not valuable, I don't know what is

So you're arguing that Iggy is mentioned in the same breath as Lebron, Steph, KD, and Kobe to name a few? Those are the top tier guys. The guys people expect to show out. Now that's usually the general fan, for those that know the sport and understand the strain, it's understandable for dudes to have off nights; they're human.

Steph let Delly give him headaches, the same for Lebron and Iggy. The MVP should torch back up guards and the "greatest athelete in the world" shouldn't have trouble w/ a bench player.
i thought it was currys to win all series but iggy definitely convinced me last night.  still surprised they actually gave it to him
Before the Finals, his odds were 100:1

:eek

That's awesome. Good for him. :smokin

Iggy 100% should of been finals MVP over curry. People that say otherwise couldn't have been watching ANY of the finals

so Curry didn't get the finals MVP because he didn't average 35pts and 10 assists?

the reason why i think Curry deserves it is because he what makes the GSW go. without him, they don't win. Without Curry, Iggy doesn't get those open shots he was getting.

without Duncan the Spurs don't win last year either

They left him open to take the shots because they didn't think he could hit em. Now if he wasn't hitting the shots, that's a different story, but he was all while guarding arguably the best player on the court.

Like Iverson's run back when the 76ers played the Lakers, the numbers (advanced wise) look worse due to him (like Lebron) having to do more than necessary. As you know, this was an EXTREMELY depleted Cavs squad that was relying on Lebron for everything.

Even though advanced stats say otherwise, I strongly feel as though he was the best player on the court in the series due to what he was tasked with. He did all he could but came up short.

I wasn't meaning to be disingenuous with my replacement level question...but swap out Lebron, and this team is probably swept. He meant THAT much to the Cavs during this run to the Finals with both Love and Kyrie being on the shelf.

I'm not going to sit here and complain about Iggy's MVP for his defense, because he was definitely the spark GS needed to win the championship...however, I'm still appreciative of what Lebron did over the course of the past 6 games. Honestly, I think this run helps, rather than hurts his legacy. Can't say anything about his effort or not leaving everything on the floor.

They could have just as easily been swept WITH him if not for Delly's put back in Game 2. See how hypotheticals work. He was terrible in the 2nd half of the first 4 games.
Geirge Karl and the Nuggets are probably hot Iggy won. :lol
Stupid, stupid, stupid. Obviously, Iggy don't mind NOW, but that was stupid of them.

Exactly, this argument could be used for almost anybody on the team. However Kawhi stepped up and put in work in that series and deserved the MVP.

so bron opts out then takes shorter deal and remains mum on the contracts and recruiting of the other guys? which GM will we see....

"I can't stand LeBron because of Stephen A's excuses!"

Makes sense.

(and that's why so few people take those types seriously.)

(Oh no, I'm not joining the slander! Quick, someone point out how huge of a fan I am!! HURRRY! Those stan gifs/comments aren't gonna post themselves!!)
every time someone posts something negative about him, you go into hero mode. chill out. we know where you stand on the subject.

Just tuned in to 1st take and SAS looms just as defeted as the Cavs.

He understand where Lebron James means when he said he rather not make the finals. Lmao
