I just want to know all the bomb spots that we need to hit up during our stay, so anywhere in or around union square. Could be any type of food cuz we're not picky eaters. Places not too expensive, although we will prolly shell out some $ for a nice dinner one of the nights. I'm maaaaaad excited for this mini-vaca. Thanks yall.

Ike's Place forced to shut down!&^%&$% Where are they gonna go? I have yet to try them. The Redwood City one is the closest so I might try it one day.

edit: Didn't know they have one in Standford and another one coming soon in Burlingame.

I'd like to know too. Getting tired of the stuff from Taqueria Las Vegas.
Haven't gone back there for awhile. Carne asada fries aren't really that good after awhile. I love the carnitas burrito at Taqueria Eduardo in SJ. Too bad they don't have carne asada fries.

Yummy Guide > Shooting Star imo. Maybe only cuz it's cheaper, but it is right across the street from Shooting Star

ike moved around the corner into the bar Lime for lunch hours. It's just temporary from what I understand, so it's only a matter of time til he gets his own fully legit venue in SF.

Definitely Ikes!
IMO Ikes>Roxies>Darby Dans>Kinders>Vikings>Little Luccas. Can't speak for the rest.

I've had a bad experience with Little Luccas, not once but twice.

Ike's is better than Little Luccas, but they're different styles and I don't think Ike's trumps every other sandwich shop. Seems like most people do think that though

Luccas is more old school and they have that rollin garlic pepper sauce, Ike's has more fresh ideas and mostly uses higher end ingredients. I personally like Mr Pickle's in the mission, their BBQ chicken sandwiches are rollin and you don't have to wade through the pools of hype to get one. Little Saigon and Miller's can't be forgotten either. I don't like comparing venues that each have something unique to offer.

Has anyone tried Lou's Cafe yet? They make some really tasty toasted sammiches with a crackin signature Jalapeno spread and they're very nice folks.
It's on Geary and 15th http://maps.google.com/ma...qi=2&ved=0CBYQnwIwAA
