NT Book Club Vol. WDYRTD

Anyone ever read The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky

It was suggested to me a couple years back by my Ethics TA. Came across a PDF the other day. Never read an eBook before though. Not sure how this will go.

Book thread on NT?

Never thought I would come across this

I started reading Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy yesterday and couldn't put it down.

Currently reading Meditations, going to get into Walkable City right after
400

Mediations is really good.

When you get a chance, I highly recommend Seneca's Letters from a Stoic.

Currently reading Phil Knight's Shoe Dog along with business classic: Negotiating to Yes.

Got my entrepreneurial vibe going on right now.

I just finished up on Ghost in the Wires.

A good film adaptation of the book would be awesome.

Does it live up to the hype?

Hey sorry for the late response didnt see this. I just finished 48laws...ya its definitely a gem. I highly recommend it. Its one of those books youll read over and over thru the years. Very applicable to life. I even chuckled several times cuz situations and examples given had occured to me and were so relatable.

My girl recently read The Girl on the Train and she asked that j read it too. Just got done with it and would say it's a decent read, falls a little flat on the thriller scale in regards to buildup and the great reveal. Overall though, the writing itself is very good and descriptive to a point you start questioning the author and whether she speaks from experience :lol

Will probably get dragged to the movie when it comes out on Friday too :lol

Been wanting to read that. Will watch the movie first though.

ayee any good entertaining books to read? Tryna switch up from watching netflix to reading. Im in my 20s btw if that matters

Book I'm about to start reading this weekend.

Biloxi, Mississippi, is a city of contradictions. A lush green jewel on the Gulf of Mexico, a Southern Riviera steeped in Confederate history, where antebellum mansions command staggering ocean views. Yet it has also been home to The Strip, a beachside center of neon decadence, prostitution, drugs, and corrupt public servants - all in thrall to a shadowy band of criminals called the Dixie Mafia. Here in Biloxi, Old South virtue clashes with a long-standing tolerance for evil. When one of the city's most prominent couples - a judge and his mayoral-candidate wife - were shot in their home, their daughter embarked on a dangerous crusade for justice that would forever change the complexion of Biloxi. She wanted to accomplish what the police could not or would not do: find the assassins and shake the city of Biloxi from its jaded complacency. In Mississippi Mud, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Edward Humes tells the inspiring and harrowing story of Lynne Sposito, whose obsession with solving her parents' murder "irresistibly draws us into a ripe, teeming, darkness, " into a sin-belt world of conscienceless killers, illegal casinos, and venal politicians. At the same time, Mississippi Mud provides a fascinating and vivid portrait of a little-known corner of the Deep South where corruption and betrayal arise not only from the criminal element but also from the good people of Biloxi's long-standing tradition of turning a blind eye to the malignancy in their midst. Though a work of nonfiction, scrupulously reported and documented, Mississippi Mud reads like an exquisitely taut and suspenseful novel, building toward a surprising - and chilling - conclusion, as the forces unleashed by Lynne'sinvestigation forever alter her life, and Biloxi's future.

Glad this thread was upped. Will be looking for new suggestions soon. Just finished the last of the Dark Tower series and halfway through The New Jim Crow.

Remember that other Book Club thread? I finally finished that first book we were reading in there :lol

All of these were recommended to me so what the hell. I bought them in the last two weeks. I finished the way of men by jack donovan. I started on Seneca, the life of a stoic. I'm gonna comeback to that one cuz I'm about a quarter into it (it's kinda boring :lol).

Half way through the game, I'd like to finish that by Sunday.
