NT, convince me "cutting the cord" is a good idea

Let me break it down for you cable having, $150+ Bill a month, have 200+ channels but use only 15.......

Get XBMC + NaviX (navix will be back on this month..maintenance work)

This setup alone will get you everything you need to watch movies and tv. Like i mentioned on my previous post....

Sports/ppv/boxing/wwe: sportsdevil, navix

Movies/TV - 1channel, icefilms, 100s more

Pron - videodevil

Cable channels - navix, veetle, mashup

With the list above, you can get every damn channel LIVE. Tell me a channel on cable that you watch, and i will show you

To the unknowing especially considering the topic is talking about tv, and most ppl dont know what repos etc are, i could get someone thinking you are getting tv apps for free....especially when you have ppl saying oh i use such and such android app and it cost me nothing. Since we are talking about tv programs, it isnt out the relam to understand why ppl would think of tv apps... and since you guys are saying i pay nothing. It isnt outrageous to think some ppl thought that you guys were talking about tv apps being free ala hulu amazon prime video etc... considering outside of xbmc thats what most ppl associate watching tv with. outside of being a cable/satellite subscriber.

And seeing most ppl in here are asking about how do you get the programming/tv shows on xbmc. Its fair to say they dont know/understand the whole "repo" aspect and how it works.

This is what im saying.. I love my gbox.

The purpose of gbox is to avoid netflix hulu and others
 
One more thing

You guys can get xbmc and navi x on your android and it works just like a gbox

So if you want to test it out then install it on your phone,add the repos and test it out first.

Sometimes i stream xbmc from my to tvs when im away from home

you can also view webisodes and podcast shows as well. and although i like icefilms etc... hacking/cracking netflix/hulu etc... is a plus just because of the ui and accesibility and what not. Only thing bad about depending on those is usually the companies find the exploits and then you have to wait till it can be cracked/hacked again. Still using my ps3 jb and htpc
 
Once you get it, just install xbmchub wizard, gets you started with all the good stuff.

i posted like a ton of repos as well as some folks pmed me about password access to certain apps.... Also an update is coming soon as well as working on a well brassers lol. navi-x is being recoded.

Yo Suberb. I just wanted to thank you and Shoelysses for putting me onto G box. I'm in Toronto so I just ordered off the gboxcanada website that you posted. Been contemplating cutting the cord for the past year or so and just recently learned that I couldn't get XBMC (which I've been using on my s3 for past month) with the new roku or aptv. I'm can't wait to receive my unit, and wanted to say that I appreciate the info that y'all posted. G' lookin out.

By 2020? lol my cable bill is around $240 monthly for 2 dvr cable boxes all channel packages. Timer warner btw

They can add those seperately to start, or just add xbmchub wizard which does most of them, maybe minus superrepo. Xbmchub wizard customizes it and adds the most popular repos and add ons ie 1channel, sportsdevil, navi-x etc. Biggest prob i've had since rediscovering xbmc though, i've ran out of **** to watch, seen it all.

No mention of the recent news that Amazon Prime Instant Video will carry past seasons of HBO shows?
 
Sooo, I tested xbmc on my MacBook Air before dropping money on a dedicated box. It's amazing, don't know how I've missed out on this for so long

Can anyone compare xbmc on android vs iOS? Specifically on a tablet. I'd like a portable solution
 
Can I use the Xbox xfinity app with my mom's account? I have AT&T uverse right now because Comcast sucks where I live right now. But the Xbox app won't work with my AT&T internet. I'm moving next month and wanted to know will the app work if I have Comcast internet. Or will it know I'm not on her home network?

You can use it anywhere

UHm she can log into her comcast account and create you  a user id and password for it. That is what i did for my brother
 
Did this for 6 months before buying my house. Saved wayyyy more than I thought I would (I had the bundle package, cable/internet/phone).

Me and my girl figured we weren't gonna watch TV anyway with the overtime we'll be working.

But we saved so much during this course that we didn't even need to work that much overtime. :smokin
