Music often relates to a certain emotion we feel or situation we have been through. The reasons why we consider certain songs timeless may be profound or not at all/
With that said, what is your personal top 10 list? Oh, and if you could, explain what the songs mean to you.
In no order
Michael Jackson- The Lady In My Life- My favorite song ever. When my father played it for the first time I was mesmerized by the raw emotion of the tone and intimate vivid words.
Stevie Wonder- Sunshine of My Life - Soulful song that tends to make me smile. It lifts my spirits after a discouraging day.
Earth Wind and Fire- Fantasy- A great display of what the band is about with an impressive exhibition of an assortment of instruments . Plus Philip Bailey's falsetto
Jay-Z- Song Cry- My favorite song from Hov. I'm sure we've all been through something like this if not exactly. The last set of verses hits home. One of his most emotional songs.
Corinne Bailey Rae- I'd Do It All Again- I like the acoustic version most of all but any version will do. Might I add
Ghostface Killah- Child's Play- I have too many favorites from the fruit punch wally don. But if I had to choose one it'd have to be this one. It was easy to relate to Starks on this track, because I had some of the same memories as a kid.
David Bowie- Space Oddity- Fun song with all the different random sounds and instruments. Makes me space out I suppose.
Phoenix- Honeymoon- Incredibly chill song.. If you need some sounds to max out to check this. Forreal.
Chef Raekwon- Knowledge God- It's a song that makes me want to throw on a goon mask and get grindin. Perfect mood music.
Kid Cudi- Do It Alone- Alot of songs could have been here. This song just resonates with me at this point in time.
I'm sure my list will change as time progresses, it might even be tomorrow but it is what it is. What's yours?
