NT MLB Redraft Thread: May standings posted!

Damn. I post one wrestling gif and I'm just getting clowned. Y'all are a tough crowd haha

Woke up early intentionally after working my second job until 4 AM. All for the sake of our redraft, and because positive vibes indicate a plethora of picks made today.

Flashy Friedmans select: Nick Franklin, RF, for now.

PM sent to FF, he is on the clock until 1:20PM ET.

He has not posted since 9/4 but he's been online almost every day. Has not responded to my last few PM's either, I think his last 3 picks have all be AP.

I don't even know who to ask TBH. Don't feel like begging anyone either. He misses again, I'm cutting the window to two hours.

:eek :lol :Nthat @ the amount of passion and dedication shown here today.

I've been inspired....so much so that I'm calling off tomorrow.

I'll ask around for a suitable proxy.

Did me good, like starting my days early and 4-5 hours sleep is plenty. Early jump on my coffee and AM headlines.

So, I have been thinking about this recently with all of the fantasy football drafts happening, and I think it could apply to this one too.....I think the snake order has it wrong.  The current setup is:

Round 1: ---->
Round 2:
Round 4:

And so on....

I really think that rounds 2 AND 3 should be reverse.  Like this:

Round 1: ---->
Round 2: (where it starts becoming a normal snake)
Round 5:

And so on.....

I just personally dont think that the person with the last pick having the #12 and #13 overall players make up for the fact that the person with the first pick gets the #1, # 24 and #25 guys.  I think it would be far more fair for the first pick to get #1, #24 and #36 and the last pick to have #12, #13 and #25.

Thoughts?

Snake drafts only work in fantasy land, because just like you pointed out, the lower you are in the draft order the more vaseline you will need in terms of value.

Real life leagues use a 1-30 (more or less depending on league size) because it is truly fair.

If you have the first pick, then you have the 31st pick. If you have the 30th pick, you get to 60th pick. It's all about player value. Snake draft wouldn't fly in real life, for the reason's you stated. It's linear, easy to understand.

Frankly no one makes an uproar to the snake style draft because no one does the research to see how unfair it is and if you get dicked with a low pick and bring it up in your live draft everyone will tell you to stop *****ing and shut the **** up, :lol

If my pick comes up before 11 am PT it's going to have to wait. I have a class in gonna get it in around 1
