I mean I understand that offense is filthy but so is the Tigers and the pitching is equal (Nova is a rookie who is due to get nailed). People on here like to say Fister got shelled in gm1 but he actually had a good stat line excluding the ER (3 ER even tho he didn't give that grand slam to cano), 6 SO in 4 innings and alot of groundouts. Give him a fresh start and he will be good. My main factor liking DET is the amount of runs the NYY offense put up gm 4

they usually don't like to score the next game & more motivation for the Tigers.
I'm pretty sure the Yanks will have CC fill in just in case Nova struggles. I personally feel like it'll be a low scoring game or very lopsided on one side with the under being the play.

at myself for listening to a man who dropped 12 units last weekend.

Tigers offense has more holes than the Yankees offense and is extremely right handed.  Fister was overrated down the stretch as well and if we're supposed to give him a fresh start after he pitched his first game in a loooooooooooooooooong time against a winning team and got hit hard, why shouldn't we give Nova the same fresh start instead of assuming he's some rookie who is due to get nailed?

How, in the postseason, is it more motivation for the Tigers to win than the Yanks?  No one is getting fired if the Tigers lose and the Yanks have the team who beat them last year waiting in the ALCS?  They are both motivated to win.  Plus, Yanks average about 5 runs a game after scoring 10 runs this season and give Nova about 8 runs a game in support.

Fister is far from overrated....

now he could get crushed tonight.....i was just saying overall......dude is just unlucky when it comes to run support during his games

Overrated down the stretch after he got to Detroit I meant. I'm not saying he's not a good pitcher, because I think he is (was) very underrated in Seattle. That's where he lacked run support IMO. But if you let other folks tell you, they'll make him seem like he's Curt Schilling to Justin Verlander's Randy Johnson since he came over. In the two months since he came over, he pitched against an injury depleted Cleveland team four times, KC twice, Oakland, Minnesota, Baltimore (before they became AL East killers), Texas at home and TB in the worst hitting park in the majors. A different beast pitching against an AL East team in a hitting park than pitching in arguably the weakest division in baseball.

I'm not saying I can't be wrong about tonight but to use the facts that were used is too far out there IMO.

I respect that and I understand Fister is not a Curt Schilling caliber player but I've watched a good amount of Mariner games when he pitched and this dude is underrated. He has a #$$ record because he got no run support whenever he started which was hilarious to me. Also, do you really think the Detroit bats are going to stay quite because they've only scored 5 runs in both wins and I see them go wild tonight...
Fister is in the top 15% in WHIP and ERA while Nova shouldn't even be compared to the guy... I will say that if Tigers are not ahead in the 6th then the game is over
