to the betting veterans -- how do you normally bet week 17 ? i know a lot of teams have nothing to play for , but some of these lines seem wild to me
Chiefs +10 @ Chargers -- ... are you kidding me ? i know the Chiefs played down last week and lost to the Chargers earlier this season but thats too many points to give to a team with a good defense
Bengals -5.5 vs. Ravens -- the Bengals have been lights out at home , and the Ravens offense is atrocious . Bengals having something to play for should cover this easily
Jags +11.5 @ Colts -- double digit dogs cover slightly over 50% of the time , and the Colts have nothing to play for at this point . all year they have been playing to their competition (beating good teams and having close games with lousy ones)
Jets +6.5 @ Dolphins -- team has been up and down , not winning back to back in the last 33 games (embarrassing) , but they still have a tremendous defense . id gladly by a point to move it to +7.5 and bet big on this game
Skins +3.5 @ Giants -- getting the hook is enough for me to want to bet this game . Skins offense has improved with Cousins , and the Giants are still a lousy team

feels good to hit a damn parlay again its been awhile.

from what im reading -- people are pretty damn split on the bowl game tonight (Oregon State giving 3 pts to Boise)
Boise State -- playing with an interim coach and their backup QB , there is a lot of worry about whether or not they'll be prepared mentally . they have a solid running game , which could cause a lot of problems for the Oregon State defense
Oregon State -- this team ended the year horribly , losing its last 5 . it is important to note that all 5 teams they lost to are legit (Stanford , ASU , Wash , Oregon and USC)
a lot of people are thinking the over may be the smartest play (currently at 66)
Boise State -- playing with an interim coach and their backup QB , there is a lot of worry about whether or not they'll be prepared mentally . they have a solid running game , which could cause a lot of problems for the Oregon State defense

Oregon State. I'm not even about to over-think this one and convince myself against them. This game popped out to me from the jump.
BSU has so many variables against them. QB sent home (2 of them...one injury to Hedrick and that's a wrap), their great leader and coach Petersen is gone, they can't stop the pass and play one of the best passing combos in the NCAA. I know they can run and OSU has a horrible run defense, but I heard the two backs behind their starter are banged up (still need to validate this). With how OSU passes so much, that Boise state offense may not get much rest and their slim on the depth chart. Their top possession receiver is out too...Half the reason why Hedrick as been moderately successful.
I'll GLADLY take the team with the more experienced coach, the more prolific and experienced quarterback, the better overall threat that complements their Q and is one of the best WR's in the nation and the team who played much stiffer competition.
If Boise wins then so be it. Smart play here has to be the Beavers in my opinion.

Man, I don't know. I don't have a good feel for it. It's gone from 61.5 at some places all the way to 66, so there may be value still if all that money seems to keep pouring in on the over (but that's also a huge gap), but it depends on how confident you are in Boise's offense to go score for score with OSU. I'm assuming OSU scores at will here, because if you hit the over you'll need their passing game to be in sync after a long lay off.
I'm just real curious about the depth behind Ajayi. If they are in fact banged up or hurt then I worry that the Boise offense may run out of steam towards the end.
This is just my thoughts. I'm hit or miss with following the teams this year, but did a little digging to get a better feel and still think I have to with OSU.

Just looked up some depth chart/box scores really quick and their backup was hurt in October and the next guy listed on the depth chart hasn't received a carry since Nov. 16 so I guess he's hurt?
