NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

Its alive. Xocoveza is back baby.
All this basically got shoved into a hop sock. We aren't really room temp secondarying this beer. It'll be more like a serving keg addition

-Coffee blend, we went whole coffee beans. It's a blend of swiss chocolate, super dark, breakfast blend, kona, and vanilla nut coffee varieties.
-Vanilla beans, we chopped up and sorta scraped
-pasilla dries Chile peppers. Chopped and de seeded just as a heat precaution
-whole nutmeg cracked into mutiple pieces
-cacaoa nibs went in whole.
-whole cinnamon sticks

Some recipes call for many of this stuff to be ground. I went whole cut last time and had success. Flavors will probably explode by tomorrow evening.

hop sock and some fishing line to keep it from clogging the serving tube.

First small pour of our milk stout (using scotch ale yeast). The yeast profile definitely bringing some woody character. It won't be as cut and dry as a traditional milk stout or xocoveza.

some lacing porn on our FI 4.5% session pale ale.

It's clearing nicely on its own without any fining aid.

^^That's bad ******* ***, bro. I've wanted to try brewing but my concern is how much money I'll spend because I can't just use the basic kits. I'll have to upgrade everything and between that and the beer I buy, I'd be broke. But I've never been so close to just buying what I need to start and just try some basic brewing.

. Well its happening. A couple gallons of homebrew milk stout will become Xocoveza with the Xocoveza spices (pasilla chile, nutmeg, vanilla beans, cinnamon, cocoa nibs, and coffee).

But there probably lies another 2 gallons of experimental extra milk stout. What should I try? I'm thinking dried coconut shavings? Maybe that and some vanilla beans? I can't think too clearly. There's wide variety I'm missing out on I'm sure.

I love coconut beer. I'm so happy this Zumbier by my house does Maui Trickster which is a coconut stout I can't get enough of. Id love to live by you
I've said it before but I have nobody in my life into craft beer like me so I'm all alone when it comes to be trying to share this hobby with me :tongue:oorme

This is today. Haven't spent this much in one haul in a bit. That On Fleek Stout is 13%. I can't wait I get on these.

I'm not from the area, but I've had a handful of Treehouse beers, and I'm certainly well-acquainted with craft beer.  From what I've had, it's worth making the trip out there for cans and growlers at least once.  It's a trek, but I'm from Long Island and have been contemplating making the trip out there this summer just because.

Worst case scenario is that you're gonna get a bunch of beer that you think is "good," but not worth going back for.  They really don't make a bad beer.

Personally I don't mind the Domino's I live in Florida and the struggle is real, but that beer tho

Off topic but the best "fast food" pizza is Papa Johns; I'd say Domino's is 2nd. But around my parts, the only time we get that is if I spend our pizza money on beer

I'll agree with this  I don't even really enjoy the pizza and beer combination though which upsets me because a lot of the good pizza joints have good beer selections. If anybody is in or near the KY,OH,WV area I would recommend Pies and Pints, great pizza and a beer list of 75-100 options and maybe only 10 of those are macro brews.

Rep all day  ^^ that garlic sauce
I have so many pizza joints around here that make great pizza and usually have decent beer on tap. It's one of the few things I love this **** state for.

You all gotta find this. It's got a Prairie bomb taste. Super God damn good!

Og, were you already drunk when ordering? I kid.

I eat anything when buzzed/drunk. Gotta let something soak up the booze

Triple home brew almost at play here
1200

Xocoveza scotch milk stout still a little flat. 4 more days. Guessing 6.3% abv. So a touch more session friendly. Coffee first spice to come out to play. This one gives me chills. Gonna be a beastttttt

Regular wee heavy. Huge malt aromatics and taste/sweetness. 7.3%

Fortunate islands pale wheat session ale. 4.2% semi sweet. Booze factor is tricky. Kicks up on you at around your 5th pint lol. Lemony sort of hop flavor here. We dry then keg hopped the citra/amarillo

Gonna pick this up tomorrow.

I've never had Prairie Bomb though.

^ Do it. I'm hoping to find at least another 4 pack after work today. The almond in that beer is on point. Very well done.

Picked up a 4-pack today. Talked to my local joint and they said it's most likely gonna be a year-round staple in their store.
