What stretching/exercise program do you use, has anything really worked for you?  I've had lower back problems since I was 16 or so, mixed with just being super inflexible.

I will post more detailed stuff in a bit.. but lots of Core work, and gotta get more flexible, will not only have you feeling better, you'll get much more benefits out of it. I had a really good workout for lower back/core work. I will try to find it.

Aside from stretching and exercising, be conscious of your sleeping positions. I know that sounds funny, but your body will adjust if you think about it. I have recurring back pain, and it stems from sleeping with one knee bent up.

I went to a chiro and apparently I get tightness in my lower back due to the lower portion of my spine turning towards my left side, and one hip is higher than the other (slightly).

I need to go to a PT because chiro's are terrible.

^^^ People dont realize just how important getting a good nights rest is for not only your body, but your overall health, including your mental health.

while the rest work very well, I can't emphasize this enough.  But there's still so many reason as to why back pain happens to someone, this might not even apply to you

If it's nerve pain use a TENS unit. You can request it to your Dr.
