So, we're getting back Calderon, Dalembert, Larkin and Wayne Ellington back on this deal.

What does Phil Jackson have planned here.


Calderon is owed $7 MM
Dalembert is owed $3.86 MM this year with a team option.
Ellington is owed $2.5 MM
Larkin is owed $1.6 MM

Tyson is owed $14.6 MM
Felton is owed $4.3 MM

We'd be making out like BANDITS in this deal!!

Now Shump, JR, and most importantly Felton are left.

You package him with someone else to move for cap space. Seems like he'd be paired with Amare.

I have a strong feeling Phil is clearing up space for Lebron now

With the proposed deal with the Mavericks, the Knicks are shedding $3.1 MM this year off our cap.

We could shed another $4 MM if we don't pick up Dalembert's contract. That would be a total of $7 MM. Enough to get a solid FA.

We'd be on the better end talent wise for sure here, but we'd also be taking on Calderon's contract. This will hurt free agency going forward, but tbh, calderon w/ 3/22 vs is arguably more tradeable than Felton w/ 2/9 remaining. I guess if Phil and Fisher believe in Larkin it could be a good deal for us

What about Derek Fisher? He's small as well. His offense is kinda meh, but he is able to hit big shots. Fisher'd be a good mentor for Larkin.

yea i'd probably call him a more athletic Augustin. He barely played last year, but he left after his soph year so he's still young
