Personal opinions are one thing but in 35 years of Jordans, how is the 2020 SOTY not even top 30.

For arguments sake here’s my top 10 not in order outside of the OW Chis being #1 and Royals being the ones I wear the most because they go with everything and always look dope.

even Complex admits that the list is partial to the top hyped shoe. And the list is mostly voted by 3 people, and 1 of those 3 being Joe La Puma who was caping hard for the OW 5 to be his favorite shoe of the year so its a pretty bias list anyway. Either way, I wouldn't exactly use these blog's definition of "SOTY" as a basis to whats generally regarded as top Jordans of all time.

And IMO all of the OW jordan did a great job of keeping is close to the originals while adding touches of Virgil/OW-esque deconstruction.

Your statement literally translates to “personal opinions are one thing, but in 35 years of Js how does the 2020 SOTY (BASED ON THE PERSONAL OPINIONS OF COMPLEX) not even top 30?”

I mean, personal opinion is just that, so just because a publication deems a shoe their “shoe of the year,” that makes it indisputable? The notion of being like “Complex labeled (BLANK SHOE) shoe of the year, so that’s got to be a top shoe to me,” is weird to me since we’re talking about a completely subjective thing. Again, it’s all subjective opinions we’re talking about, so whether it’s a publication, the biggest/most famous shoe collector, or MJ or Tinker Hatfield himself telling me what they hold in high esteem, means nothing on how any of us should personally deem our favorite/top shoes.

How is a SOTY not a top 30 J all time? That’s really crazy. Top 10 is subjective and generally fluid but for me the OW5 definitely is. The window to the socks, lace choices, the unique materials, OW styling, the used retro yellow sole, hole in the tongue, goes with everything, and it’s super comfortable.

Going from that list, I would take the Guava 4 over these specifically. Surprised Mochas didn't make the list.

You do realize that every single reason you just gave are 100% subjective and your personal opinion right? Again, SOTY according to whom? According to the OPINIONS of a bunch of PEOPLE from a publication? You’re talking as if because it’s THEIR opinion, it’s gospel. I think they’re dope. Hell, the Muslin and the Sail OW 5s are my favorite OW kicks, and I own them both. But there’s no reason why anyone’s (a publication or an individual) opinion has to trump anyone’s own personal opinion on a COMPLETELY SUBJECTIVE matter.

I’d personally take MY OWN Chi 1, Blk/Red 1, Royal 1, UNC 1, Shadow 1, Kentucky 1, Laser Anniversary 1s, White Lance Mountain 1s, LA2Chi 1s, BT Union 1s, Trav 1 Highs, Nigel 1s, Spidey 1s, WC 3s, BC 4s, WC 4s, Rare Air Black Laser 4s, Lightning 4s, Columbia 4s, Bling 4s (2000), Oreo 4s, Grape 5s, Laney 5s, Carmine 6s, Olympic 6s, Maroon 6s, Midnight Navy 6s, Olive Trav 6s, Khaki Trav 6s, Infrared 6s, Aqua 8s, Black Chrome 8s, Seattle 10s, and Concord 11s all over MY Muslin OW 5s. That’s more than 30. I’d even take my Sail OW 5s over them. But according to your logic and statements, I’m supposed to change my own personal list and preference because of what Complex says? That’s crazy.

It had been way too quiet and civil in here for too long, glad to see there's something new to argue about
MY subjective opinion is, the Muslins are the best OW sneaker other than the Chi 1s. Actually, I like them more, but I've never been a 1s guy. I can understand why they're so coveted, though.
I sold my DS double-up pair of Black/Cement IVs a year ago to cover half the cost of the OW Vs. I could've just bought the OWs without selling anything to put toward them, I just didn't want to. And I have zero regrets, since the 2019 IVs honestly kind of suck. The pair I've worn, I've only worn maybe five times in 2.5 years. Realized I had no need for two pairs, and with the prices people were/are paying for them, it was easy to let them go.

Granted it’s just a complex list. And as has been said a billion times it’s as subjective for complex as much as it is for us debating it.
The OW 5 for the reasons I stated are to me a top 10 J.

The craziest one was I was at the Penske Ferrari dealer and this kid and grandpa walk over to me because the kid recognized the shoes and wanted to take pics. Im thinking“kid shoot tue Ferraris” lol
