Offical 2009-10 NBA Season Thread

That article made Chris Paul look like this era's version of KG. Greatness + Passion + Surrounding Mediocrity + Crappy Owners = Unrealized Talent.

Actually Minny KG sounds about right

Dirk had 29 in the final quarter, and the Mavs almost doubled their score in that Q alone?

I'm gonna have to check that game out tomorrow.

The first three quarters are absolutely abysmal.

Very poor defense, TERRIBLE shooting.

But the fourth quarter was clockwork. I think we missed a total of one shot in that quarter. Missed five shots in the quarter, but after the 7:27 mark, wedidn't miss for the rest of the game.

Dirk's 29 was in a 9 minute span. Dominating inside and out.

Dirk/Dampier's defense in the post was greatly appreciated tonight.

Although, the backcourt issues...

Weird friggin night last night.

Has to be the worst game D12 ever played.

Every team that was winning early, lost late.

I loved watchin that kid Teague light it up the other night vs the Lakers, then he gets a DNP? W T F?

Brandon Jennings out there ballin. I'm very surprised.

Deng with 20/20. There's the dude that almost got traded for Kobe. If that dude woulda been around last year, they mighta done more things in theplayoffs. Maybe Gorodn was holdin him back, maybe he's finally healthy, I dunno.

Thunder are fun as hell to watch. Durant just had an off night.

I LOVE watching the Suns get their hopes up. God I love it.

Oden 5 fouls in 16 minutes? How the hell you manage something like that? And for Osh, he did have 8 points and 9 boards, so while on the floor, the guy wasproducing, that is where PER is a worthless, lame, stupid, garbage stat.

Melo solid again. 14 free throws in 29 minutes.
eek.gif

PER is worth less for a lot of different things.
laugh.gif

Everything requires context, there is no wonder stats that you can spit out without using your brain, there are more flaws with PER than just that, and I knowthem all, but it is better than just looking at PTS, REB, AST, ect, because that is more misleading.

It's a piece of the puzzle.

The funny thing is that the NBA have started to adopted some sort of advanced statistical analysis but I'm the fool.

There is a reason the Spurs rape everyone in the draft, or how Rockets can still be a competitive team minus Yao, but whatever.

Man, how the hell you do that? I say the word PER and you show up outta nowhere. You got like a beeper or somethin anytime someone says somethin bad aboutthat worthless stat?

I figured it would at least be a day or two before you saw that.

The Spurs don't rape anybody in nothin. Same with the Rockets. For all this genious, what have the Rockets done? The Spurs had the damn #1 pick to getboth David and Tim, no friggin PER is gonna do anything with that. They have good talent evaluators, good coaching, a strong system and good leadership toteach that system. Those friggin stats don't mean @#$%.

And while we're here, I'll bring up somethin JA and I touched on. We can now OFFICIALLY kill all this bull crap about Nash makes players better. Andprime example will be one Channing Frye. That dude is knockin down mad 3's left and right now, and I'm sorry, I don't care how perfect a pass isfrom Nash, that don't help someone make a 3 point shot. Unless Nash taught Frye the ability to shoot the ball, Nash doesn't do anything. Point blank,Frye now gets minutes, Frye now has the chance to shoot whenever he wants, he gets 35 minutes instead of 5 minutes, he can produce. THAT HAS NOTHING TO DOWITH NASH. So all that stupid ridiculous hype he got for years from lame media members can now stop. Tripling your minutes, = more production. Not hanginout with some overrated dude.

Glad we got that outta the way. I feel better now.

The Spurs invented database to keep track and translate the statistics of European players and project them to the NBA hence there success in drafting Europeanplayers.

EVERY TEAM has some sort of advanced statistics department, you may think they mean nothing to but EVERY TEAM IN THE NBA seem to find use for, but then againme and NBA are wrong, it's all worthless.

Also all good players make there teams performance increases when they on the court, When Dwight Howard is on the court the Magic's 3P% increasesdramatically, same with Nash, Can Nash make Frye a better shooter? No. But he can help him get more open shots, more open shots, better 3P%. When Nash gets onthe court the suns percentages increases by 6 percent...

But I guess that happened by magic.

i hate the suns and spurs is all you had to say

^
I used to think it was jokes, but you truly do have a problem with reading don't you?

I think the world of the Spurs organization. Do I need to suck them off every post though? No. I think the world of the Patiots. Do I need to praise everysingle thing they do? No.
Read a post for a change, quit just saying "you hate, you hate" It's dumb.
grin.gif

^Actually your point guard can help with 3point%...receiving the ball at the right time and when your open plays a big role in 3 point %

Vince Carter goes down again........

Where all those dudes that swore at me last year that he never gets hurt and always plays injured? He can't make it thru the first God damn week with theMagic.
smh.gif

I'm not really worried about Carter, seems to be a minor injury, yeah it's kept him out of a couple games, but that isn't a big deal yet.

Mike Redd and Vince are perennial All-Injured Starters.

Waiting for Peja to take his annual trip to the injured list.

Dahntay Jones or however you spell it had 19 last night..........he had 20 the game before. He had a 17 in their opener.

This dude was scorin 4 a night for the Nuggets last year, and now he's a scoring machine in Indiana.
eek.gif

Ya know what, I give credit to Steve Nash for this. Yup, anytime a guy gets more minutes/production, it's because of a truly great point guard. So propsto Nash for makin Jones a great scorer. Good job Steve.
pimp.gif

Cuz NOBODY makes the passes that Steve does. His passes cause you to make more baskets. His passes are special.

Deshawn Stevenson is the worst professional basketball player on the planet.

We're still an average team, aside from Gilbert Arenas we have noconsistency whatsoever.

Luckily the season is 82 games, hopefully we'll get it together.

Double double and 2 blocks in 25 minutes a night on a team, under a coach, that is worst possible fit for a big man like Roy.
Kings G Martin has injured left wrist
1 hour, 24 minutes ago

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP)-The Sacramento Kings say leading scorer Kevin Martin(notes) has a hairline fracture in his left wrist.

An MRI taken Thursday revealed a non displaced hairline fracture of the navicular bone in Martin's left wrist. The team says treatment options are currently being evaluated.

Martin is averaging 30.6 points a game for the Kings, who have lost four of five games to open the season. Sacramento was an NBA-worst 17-65 last season.
