I know. I always watch Knicks games on MSG channel. This time, I won't be around much in NYC. I don't like to watch Knicks games on live stream websites.

so lawrence frank is off the list since he got the detroit job... i wonder whos our new defensive coach now

Who would yall actually hire now as a defensive coach anyway? Is there some really good one just being ignored or something?

I don't think we add a defensive head coach just to add one. Just to find out there's somebody just as bad or ineffective as Dan.

@ATG
IMO alot of this defensive coach talk depends on what whoever running the team sees in the future for us. I think anyone who is running the organization should know by now whether or not they think Pringles can coach this team in the future (PLEASE NO) but you never know with these MSG people. If the plan is to let him walk anyways after this season I could see the MSG people letting Pringles continue with the staff he has because as soon as you bring in a specialist, the talks that he is a lame duck coach in the last year of his contract will be all over the papers here. Obviously I'd love for us to bring in someone to help Pringles out on the defensive end but if the trade off is that he'll be gone after this year, I think I'll let him have a go at it for one more year (obviously it won't work) just cause of how much I hate the guy.

Completely random but with this heat wave I watched games 1 & 2 again, we've beaten the argument into the ground but it's unbelievable that we weren't able to take one game. I know it's such an easy cop out to blame the coach but after watching basically every game all year it was SO obvious that the team just wasn't prepared (strategically, mentally, positioning) to play in such a high stake situation late in the year. You know watching all year that this team late in games just leaned on talent and they got away with it but against a team like Boston with Doc coaching it just wasn't going to happen, we were going to have to play near perfect games, and I felt that we basically did up until the end of both games. I just felt that Pringles didn't put us in a position to succeed, point blank period.
All the little things we +#!%%$# about Pringles during the year (rotation, schemes, out of TO sets) just combined and came into play at the worst possible time for us in those 2 games. As much as it hurt to watch, you have to believe that there's at least ONE person in that organization who watched the games and said this just isn't right that the most obvious difference between the two teams in the first 2 games was the coaching inside of the last 2 minutes each game.

did anyone else in nyc especially the bronx lose power for like a 1/2 hour last night? I told my girl i have no power and the first thing she says is "Im freezing you think I should turn off my A/C?"

i didnt mind kobe beating out the legendary double nickel (even though 55 on that team is w/o a doubt more impressive than 61 on that disgrace) but it sucks that a non-knick holds the all-time record. i cant see STAT ever beating it, but hopefully melo can. both of their career highs are 50 btw, melos done it twice.

and i still rem that year kobe dropped his 61, then lebron said $*!# it im gunna try to outdo him and got his 50 point triple double, and then i rem hearing ab d wade saying he wishes miami had another game scheduled at msg to outdo them smh

bum %*% team had no respect thank god those years are done

wasn't lebron's triple double later revoked? i think Z got credited with one of the rebounds when it was reviewed after the game.

but #%%+ that year. i was at that bron game, the amount of lebron ********rs at that fake triple double game was sickening.

Any y'all seen the recent news about our outstanding, God sent owner, James Dolan? Apparently he just took over a big position in Live Nation. Some people are saying it's so he can eventually keep certain concerts out of the Barclays Center or whatever it's called once it opens. Jimmy Dough continuing to try to always one up the Russian.

Jim Dolan Is King of All Media

So, you ask, what is Jim Dolan up to these days? His Knicks don't have a long-term general manager (or, for that matter, a roster), and, as far as we know, he and Isiah Thomas did not, in fact, get married in Manhattan yesterday. (Perhaps they are waiting for a more scenic environment.) You can only host so many July 4 parties. Dolan must be a little bored. So: Let's take over more media organizations! As long as it doesn't require talking to media organizations, sure, let's do it.
Late last week, buried in an SEC filing, Live Nation — the company that owns Ticketmaster — announced that it was adding a new member to its board: Jim Dolan. Some might consider that a conflict of interest. Or, uh, several. From Deadline's amusing summary of Dolan's holdings:
He's a power in live entertainment in his role as executive chairman of Madison Square Garden -- a major owner of concert venues (Radio City Music Hall, The Beacon Theater, The Chicago Theater), sports teams (New York's Knicks and Rangers) and media outlets (MSG network and music channel Fuse). Dolan's also CEO of Cablevision Systems, a director of AMC Networks, and a Live Nation client in his role as lead singer and guitarist for blues band JD and the Straight Shot.
"Lead singer and guitarst for blues band JD and the Straight Shot." Bwahahahaahaha! Of all the indignities of working public relations for MSG, the worst absolutely has to be calling reporters working on Dolan stories and desperately trying to sneak in a JD and the Straight Shot plug. "Yes, yes, in addition to the holdings from his father, don't forget 'Double My Order!' That's off their most recent album, 'Nothing To Hide.' Why, JD and the Straight Shot really put slow-burning blues jams together with ballads and tight rockers on 'Nothing To Hide!'" [Drinks ricin.]
Anyway, some have speculated that Dolan joining the Live Nation board is a shot across the bow of Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov. Not only does it potentially give Dolan control over Ticketmaster events that might play at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, it also puts Dolan on the board of the company that kinda owns all of Jay-Z's music. Yeah, how ya feel about that billboard outside MSG now, Nets?
That's probably an exaggeration, though: Dolan is merely on the board, not a CEO. If Live Nation has money to be made from the Barclay's Center, they'll happily take it. Perhaps the most amusing aspect of this is that, because of all of Dolan's conflicts — and let us repeat, there are tons of conflicts, even if you don't include JD and the Straight Shot! — Live Nation had to change the rules for its board members. Dolan, unlike the rest of the board, does not have to go to Live Nation with "corporate opportunities," and he can openly compete with Live Nation whenever he likes. Good deal! At this point, we're full expecting JD and the Straight Shot to win every Grammy from now on. The man's power is unimaginable. We just hope he doesn't sue us for this blog post or anything.

Anyone know where I can cop this Gucci beanie in black??? I've been looking forever, but just can't seem to track it down.

Interesting note about Jerome Jordan signing in Krka Novo Mesto: Apparently the Knicks will pay a 500k buyout for him when the lockout ends

That's a great deal for Jordan, and a great deal for the Slovenian team, who will also play in the EuroCup group stage, starting in November

Makes sense for NY (who I guess money isn't an object for) because they won't lose Jordan for the whole season, & he can continue to develop

The Knicks are getting more love than the Heat.

The Heat again are scheduled for the maximum 25 appearances on the major national networks, with the maximum six on ABC, the maximum 10 on ESPN and the maximum nine on TNT. While three games are currently scheduled for NBA TV, that maximum limit of nine is expected to be reached via fan voting for the network's Tuesday showcases. The Heat have 12 such Tuesday dates eligible for NBA TV selection.
