I could understand Ray Allen being that he is gonna break the 3 PT FG Made record. But if that's the case, it would be a great idea for the "champion" Paul Pierce, also his teammate, to give him HIS spot.
To me, just like the Dunk contest, most of, and probably all of the participants should be young up and coming players, or players that are having that great half of a season. They should be benefiting from the weekends exposure. Dudes like Paul Pierce and Ray Allen already had their chance to participate in these events. Nate Robinson is the dunk champ, but he isn't participating in the contest this year. Why does Paul Pierce HAVE to "defend" his win ?
All-Star Weekends are handled all the way wrong.
On the other hand when you think about it, Boston is taking over the All-Star weekend in L.A. as much as they can.
